What IF genres would you like to see more of?

I’ve been thinking a lot about what kinds of stories people actually want more of lately,

what genres or themes do you guys feel are still underused, or not done enough?

Also, what kind of hooks immediately grab your attention in an IF?

For me, I’ve been developing an idea for an IF— where you play as the only angel who didn’t fall when Heaven cast out its own, now hiding on Earth while supernatural beings fight in the aftermath.
Like an apocalypse sort of vibe.

Would something like that catch your interest, or is there another type of IF you’d rather see more of?

what genres
Medieval+political intrigue
Fatalism, morality vs efficacy in political matters
Determinism

Good grammar...honestly I'm down to read anything as long as it has good grammar lmao.

Good amount of player agency too

Your IF sounds really cool tbh
I would read it.

As someone pointed out in the IPs, Mechs are a genre that needs more IF love. Sci-fi in general, even, seems to be the red-headed stepchild of IF.

For themes:
-Former child soldier learning to be human
-Supersoldier adjusting to peace when the war is done
-Soldiers in general adjusting to peacetime
-PTSD that isn't an excuse for romance or to give a PC the idiot ball.
-Horrors of war in general
-What it is to be human
-Identity as more than just ***/gender and romance

I like emotionless PCs slowly gaining (or regaining) humanity. Just scratches an itch for me.
Healing from hurt also grabs me good.

Sounds interesting, but I'd have to start reading it.

Regency, Victorian, Edwardian or non European(and by European I mean mostly English maybe Slavic once in a blue moon)/American settings. There's enough medieval/futuristic European and American stuff that I'd love to see.

For Themes: Greed and how far someone is willing to go to achieve a goal. Schemes and Conspiracies where you're the schemer is so lacking in the IF space. Too many goodie two shoes (or at least forced to be a goodie two shoe)

Depends, I'd have to read it first.
