Welcome to Elderfield v0.11.14

CHANGELOG

  • Updated the calendar UI artwork
  • Depositing stacks of items, custom quantities, and discarding now only require one key press, rather than a modifier key + OK/Left Click
  • The crafting menu will now only open the confirm window or the quantity select window, never both (reducing clicks needed to confirm a craft generally)
  • Moved "Tasks" to the top of the pause menu, so that pressing "Items" via cursor wont cause key items to be selected due to mouse position
  • Added a "Die Roll Speed" option which will speed up the roll effect when set to "Fast"
  • The "Autorun" option was changed to "Sprint Mode", which lets you select between holding Sprint to run, or pressing it to toggle autorun on or off.
  • Item pickup messages now move out of the way of text boxes
  • Reworked the back-end for fishing rolls, which should make the system more reliable
  • Made several seasonal fish appear in 2 seasons instead of 1
  • Slightly increased the rates for all ores in the Catacombs mines (particularly Black Iron and Dense Iron)
  • Fixed the "Heavy" weapon type not showing the stun animation
  • The title screen commands can now be navigated using any directional inputs (not just left or right)

Installation:
This version of the game must be installed in its own directory (such as a folder on your desktop).

Do not drag & drop files from a new version into an older version to update it, this will break your files and cause bugs.
When updating, back up your save folder, delete the game directory, then extract the new game files and copy the save folder back into it.

To continue your save from the Steam demo, copy the "saves" folder from your Steam install directory, and paste it into this new directory, wherever you choose to save it.

Changelog:
  • Added localization for Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German and Russian. These can be set via the "Language" option on the first page of the options menu.

You can now ask good friends and romantic partners to move in with you and become your roommate

NPCs will generally only agree to become roommates if you’ve had a stable relationship for at least two months, if they have no mistrust or anger towards you, their Friendship or Romance attitude (whichever is most relevant) is at least 80%, and they have no other commitments (meaning that friends in committed romantic partnerships will not move out to room with you)

In order to move in, you must have a bedroom available — friends will expect their own bedroom or will room with an existing partner, but for the PC’s own romantic partners, they will live in the PC’s bedroom

Individual room ownership is now considered, meaning that you lose the ability to rearrange or alter a bedroom that an NPC roommate has claimed

Added some new furniture to the furniture department in JT Ult, notably couches

In new worlds, NPCs will now be assigned specific work shifts, so that finding them in a certain place of work on a certain day of the week at a certain hour is consistent

Townies now act on the same basic schedule slot system that students do; generally only really noticeable if you live with them, this means they’re now consistently in the bathroom in the morning, finding food around lunchtime if they’re not at work, in their bedroom at night, and so on

Roommate NPCs now visibly pursue their hobbies when they have free time at home, playing video games, watching movies, and the like

If you notice an NPC conducting an activity, you often have an opportunity event to attempt to join them, boosting your needs and your friendship with them

An event may fire if an NPC is just in a room doing a particular thing; for example, if they’re occupying the bathroom in the morning, you may need an interaction with them before you can get in there yourself

Roommates help you pay your rent! They’ll owe an equal share of the rent, which they will generally deliver to you in the last week before rent is due

Roommates may sometimes be short on rent if they’re not very wealthy, or they may want to perform certain favors for you in lieu of owing rent

The furniture available within encounters inside housing units should now generally reflect what you actually have in that room

All genders now have the same minimum slider setting in worldgen settings

Vegan foods are now more clearly labeled in shop menus (contributed by Rfpnj)

Added six new dishes to the menu for The Legislator (contributed by Rfpnj)

Added matcha tea to the BangCoffee menu (contributed by Rfpnj)

Added soda to the River Rat (contributed by Rfpnj)

You can now see the professor of your courses on the study and homework screen (contributed by Rfpnj)

When a professor tells you they can’t give you a task because you already have one pending, they will now mention which professor the task is for (contributed by Rfpnj)

The Character dialog now has a note about your No Goon Gourdtober status under the Essentials tab (contributed by Rfpnj)

Gaining plumpness will now have some effect on breast and butt size (contributed by noonycurt)

Pregnancy now gradually increases breast size, and the effect will gradually fade again after the end of pregnancy (contributed by noonycurt)

Items in clothing stores can now display both absolute style perception effects (for example, how dressy an item makes you look) as well as the relative effects compared to what you’re currently wearing (contributed by CGeorge)

Further, you can now see the style perception effects of individual options (for example, choosing black as a color adding to goth style perception) (contributed by CGeorge)

You can also now see the style perception effects of items in your wardrobe after purchasing (contributed by CGeorge)

You can now see your perceived style in the Current Outfit dialog, and how changing an item’s configuration (such as unbuttoning a shirt) will alter style perception (contributed by CGeorge)

The Current Outfit dialog now also displays the effects on style perception of your hairstyle and tattoos (contributed by CGeorge)

The Story Hints section for petitions now includes a detailed walkthrough to help you complete it (contributed by CGeorge)

Many fixes and tweaks

Welcome to Elderfield v0.11.17 PATRONS

CHANGELOG

  • Reworked gamepad tile target selection. It now snaps to interactable entities around the player, and has new logic for detecting ideal targets, particularly while farming. This should overall make farming and gathering on gamepad feel much better. The smart detection can be toggled off in the settings if you prefer a simpler "target where I'm looking" approach.
  • Tile targeting now has a "magnetic snapping" approach, so the player can interact with events that are nearby but not in front of them without always needing to turn toward them first.
  • Reworked the settings for the tile highlights. You can now choose when to show/hide them, the color, the style, opacity and can turn them off completely if you want to.
  • Tile highlights can now show on all valid interactable tiles while using gamepad, not just farm plots, clearly showing what you will activate if you press OK.
  • Pressing a directional key toward an event you are already next to and facing will always "nudge" the tile target to it, so you can always override any smart targeting if needed.
  • When farming, repeat actions will be prioritized for targeting on gamepad. So, if you hoe a plot, it will keep moving the tile target to other nearby un-hoed plots before moving to the hoed ones. This makes it easy to just keep pressing OK to tend to all the tiles around you, which will automatically turn the player and interact with new tiles. Moving a certain distance or performing a different action will reset this "same type" priority. This will also allow the tile target to move beneath the player, allowing for a way to target the tile under the player in certain cases without the use of the mouse.
  • When farming, crops which have been watered have a lower priority than crops which can be hoed/planted/watered/harvested. This will make it easier to quickly target plots which require an action. Plots in general also have a higher priority than other events, making it much easier to tend to crops despite nearby adjacent events like scarecrows while standing in a field.
  • Holding OK to continuously plant seeds or harvest crops will move the tile target image to the next tile that will be auto-interacted if you move close enough to it, even if it is out of range. This should make the "continuous harvest/plant" behavior more intuitive, as you can "follow the lead" of the target highlight to keep planting and harvesting while holding OK.
  • The way the highlight image renders was changed, so it now matches the pixel art scale, and will not jitter around when the camera moves.
  • Mouse tile highlights are largely the same, but the continuous harvest/planting will override the usual mouse tile highlight.

    .17
  • Added a new "Social" menu for tracking friendship level and liked/disliked gifts for NPCs (this will not retroactively show gifts that you gave before this update)
  • Updated all NPC gift preferences to add significantly more items to each, and more universal likes/dislikes
  • Pressing a bound key/button for Seed Select, Inventory, Tasks or Map will now also close the scene, rather than just opening it
  • Ritual Braziers now have a higher gamepad targeting priority when empty and directly being faced
  • Fixed the "Guiding Light" effect triggering at wrong times
  • Fixed a crash when playing animal interact sounds while playing in any non-English language
  • Fixed the processor item select showing the wrong image for the first item sometimes
