Because some of the work-in-progress versions of my games have been reposted without permission, I’ve had to tighten how test builds are shared.
From now on, you’ll need to log in with your Patreon account to access current test versions. This makes sure only active patrons can play early builds and helps protect the project from piracy.
There will still be public versions released from time to time so everyone can check in on progress, but patrons will have access to the latest playable builds as they’re developed.
Thanks for understanding. This keeps the project sustainable and lets me keep building new content for you all.
Yeah, but this is probably gonna apply for all of Jim's future WIPs, and it might end up being popularized with other CoG authors too which while as you said won't stop the leaks, it will most likely make them rarer/harder to do (at least without the one who leaks the content being caught.)Certainly isn't the end of the world. Worst case we wait till Feb, realistically there will still prob be leak sometime.
I don't expect it to change all that much. You're only accessing the files once logged in. I'm assuming its still being stored as an HTML demo. The link itself can have some protections, but the beauty of an HTML is the source code is easily accessible. Not too sure what type of protections are currently implemented but it only takes one to put in the very minor legwork.Yeah, but this is probably gonna apply for all of Jim's future WIPs, and it might end up being popularized with other CoG authors too which while as you said won't stop the leaks, it will most likely make them rarer/harder to do (at least without the one who leaks the content being caught.)
