I don't think we can, besides Jack has been out there travelling and gaining strength the whole year we were at Thunderfall. It's possible he earned way more points than us during that time.

While thundefaller was essentially groping on his own so yes Jack being stronger is more than reasonable, fact that you can somehow fight to a draw is a miracle!
One thing I noticed is that the writer takes clear inspiration from shonen manga like Bleach. For instance, there is a technique called, "flash-step" which is a direct named ability from the manga which is actually called, "Shunpo." Other similarities like the blade style, similar to the Zanpokutōu in Bleach. I've never read or watched Naruto or Dragon Ball Z, but it appears that there is references and inspiration from those manga as well. I thought that was pretty neat to be honest!
