Ohhh I never played as a trapper. I thought you had to like catch one or something later on, like the sabretooth tiger fight on the road or something.
Trapper is probably the most worthless option you can take btw. The roc does nothing for you if you're already capable of winning your fights.

I guess it does give a discount when calling your ships back, but who th cares? Lol

I'm inclined to agree myself, so far from my limited experience, Merchant and Herbalist are up there fighting for my number 1 option for a background. Blacksmith's at second and that's mostly just for my liking of craftsman backgrounds, while Trapper is dead last.

Even when I'd try out Midorikatai, I'd still choose Herbalist or Merchant.

Well yeah, I play a trapper for rp but you could have the same effect by just having a scene of throwing dog treats at Leona once in a while.

It's a worthless origin that doesn't help you compared to the king that is merchant
I love merchant for the one scene when you meet the trade caravan and you both go

"damn it's great to be a merchant ☕ hahahahahahaha"

Does blacksmith come up later like the other two? I don't think I remember ever seeing anything.

Are we going to have the chance to learn the rest of our mentors skill set? Because only being able to choose one kinda sucks... especially since I missed out on a cool style technique for it.

Also Kaitos ultimate is so ***. Beast Taming is literally just a worse version of fake Shironyaska and obviously doesn't even compare to Harmony.

Anyone else think some of the unique weapons in the game are too weak, to the point of being disappointing? Like, I can craft something better than these gauntlets with my eyes closed. Not even talking about the mediocre sword you get out of Lightbringer.

Idk man I thought godslayer was pretty good. It was about the same as my crafted sword. Made me a water sage too.

Aren't we technically learning an offshoot of their foundations. It's more apparent when you pick Eldra as your mentor and she states that she's only gifting you a fraction of her power so I think it's a nice tradeoff tbh. Being able to choose one skill that you prioritize more than the rest with the opportunity to learn their ultimate skill much later down the line. I kind of disagree with kaito though. Being able to have a beast as a battle companion and false spirit summoning from Zhao Yang are both equal in my eyes since they can both act as supports in fights. Two of kaito's skills are actually pretty good and his techniques obviously have high synergy with midorikatai. I do agree with Harmony being the overall best but the other two are just as capable. I think anon tries to balance everything out so one side isn't as lopsided compared to the rest. There's only one thing I'm wondering with Eldra and dragons nest you can learn;since you passively gain AP will the AP you gain from it be uniform in value or go up or down depending on certain conditions.

Anyone know if techniques that let ypu steal/gain AP after defeating opponents stack?
Yes they do. Soulstealing for example if you apply it on your active weapon always counts towards your total ap gained after defeating an opponent no matter how small said value is (usually 2-3AP). There is an elemental specific technique from I think the storm element you can get when exploring nanhou that allows you to gain AP when defeating an enemy as well. If they don't stack up then it's probably a bug.
