Okay, did more testing, and it either doesn't work early on or you need more than 9 persuade. Because it seems to stay at 8 for both buying and selling prices for reagents and Handseal stuff.
Hmm, what's your base persuade when you found this out?

edit: Are you sure it's not tied to commerce instead of persuade because this was on my merchant/kuro run as well
Could be, I'll have to test it further. Although it would be in a Merchant Aoyu run because that's what I'm running.
Apparently having craft 4 isn't exactly helpful. My tavern repairs got stuck at 80% even though I fixed it a bunch myself earlier. Needs a fix
Speaking of fixes, is there a reason this choice doesn't give retainers but only underlings?

Another way to cheat is that you can duplicate just about any gain in the game (stats, shards, skill books etc) by opening the stat menu twice
There's going to be a full blown war of people trying to possess your body at one point
Does it only stop at twice or can you do it more?
Update
Found a little bug with the discounts that did not apply them properly when calling the 'discount' widget. FIxed it, now if you have the applicable elements and/or styles, the discount should be applied and displayed properly.
No limit. It works for most. Usually, you need to select "return to game" twice after opening the stats menu twice. If it sends you back to the game after choosing it once, then it doesn't work for that scene.
