So you cant get it unless youre a merchant or did I misunderstand you?
Need deception AND craft or just be a merchant.
Well, based on the what is said the last thing Jack was doing in his way for Nanhou was helping people. Quite the opposite, showing up in random sects and beating them up...

Truly the work of a Archon. Can't wait to show up in a random Inner Kingdom sect, beat up the sect master, steal their techniques, treasures and be rewarded by the Archonate for my exceptional services...
I can see this ******* being genuinely confused about being reprimanded for his actions in archonate because he's only been rewarded so far lmaoo

Unless i misremembered it, their soulbinding oath from chapter one is pretty specific that Mao has to adhere to Khan's ruling as long as it involves the mc. On Khan's side of the oath, he must prioritize the interest of the sect. So if we're strong enough to be number 2 then surely giving us the technique would only make thunderfall sect stronger.

I mean, it could go two ways. Mao could actually grow to care for the mc even if he didn't realize or he sees someone attacking his disciple as an excuse to beat up the leader of an enemy clan.
Can't wait for jill to be added
Mc will be his son in law🤣

I was thinking about that one guy that saw in the code that Jack's battle prowess is weaker overall if MC loses the fight.

Will Jack's battle prowess actually be used for anything outside of his own fights? I think it'd be cool if he could lose to Goro as a result of being complacent after beating MC, which in turn increases Goro's battle prowess making him a harder fight for MC later on.

I doubt this will happen though. For one anyone who loses to Jack in chapter 8 is probably beyond cooked against Goro and Brass Tiger anyway even without them being buffed, and it would probably add work that anon isn't willing to deal with.

Still though one can hope. I just want that variable to be used more I guess.

For anything like that you would have to bum throughout the game till chapter 8 so he doesn't gain any combat prowess he gets stronger the better you perform in each fights through childhood to the dragon trial.
So mc would need to be mid carder for that to have any possibility.

I wonder if we can make Jack straight up give up on MC this book if we're pathetic enough haha

I actually didn't know that. I know he secretly watched the Daichi fight and the Ebikowa gate. Does the code give him extra battle prowess when we win those to represent him getting pumped at seeing us win?

Wait... Is Jack stalking us?

Nah it is mostly for our performance against him but sure bumming out in trials can be seen by others so that would deffo matter.

Some examples that buffs him are:
Claiming you're rivals to the guard in childhood.
Tanking his technique when you get the trials letter.

And here I was thinking Tanking the technique and passing the persuasion check to mock him would actually lower his battle prowess. Like it does during the first childhood fight.

At this rate Jack will gain battle prowess whenever he hears anything good about us.

Mocking him with no injuries actually buffs him on longer run too lol it's only a temporary debuff.

Jack gets a fortitude core each time you trigger his thunderfall humiliation foundation
