Bad MC's will have be having consequences people who are enslaving these kids while good bros will get to be romantic with her.
As for Power she is strong ,she is below Mao but above the average sect master level.
Are there any upsides to playing a bad guy? So far, all you get are two losers in your head.
 
Des exists, we are gonna need a better selling point than this, plus pretty sure Diamond said she will show up for non-demonic MCs anyway.
I think the problem with going demonic is there's not enough pay off, plus constantly worrying your inner hellscape exposed and probably the fact that honored kind mc is way better.
in poma its the opposite lmao, if you don't go evil then good luck scrapping qi
 
Honestly that's the only point I disagree with you here. At least when I played both games AC gave me a much more immersive feeling when describing the fighting scenes (although it might just be because dragon ball type of fighting is my favorite and AC is clearly inspired by it).

POMA in recent updates genuinely feels like Nicky realized he screwed himself over story-wise but he wrote and put so much work into what he'll have to remove to fix it that he just dosent want to and tries to make the story work through the problems.
Maybe its a differnet strokes for different folks type of situation, for me niki describing how every bone shatters, how organs rupture and explode, i remember far more than in AC, in jacks fight i rememeber the double head smash into the wall and like the canon and last dream sequence, and that is barely.

While in poma i rememeber muchen and his army of ice, i remember him causing snowfall and us trying to survive against them, i recall him shattering his fist against mine, i recall the ice domain.

Tje spear twins and their opening attacks trying to overwhelm us, the trasformation into a spear,the damned beam that basically killed me every time, the void formation and the 2 v1.

I even remeber much of the arena fights
The speedster trying to crack our skulls and her arrogant ghost
The monk with the evergrowing tatoo and us standing head to head ever unflinching,
The dancer and her head dropping finisher
THe stupid weapon master.

The only thing that stuck with me in AC the same way it stuck with me in POMA is if you get the bird to drop the tiger, the desxription is apt bur viseral




I'd even argue that AC has more reactivity in its fights than POMA does, purely because in AC, you actually have a variety of styles, backgrounds, and elemental combos to choose. Whereas in POMA, there are barely any styles and most of it are just stat checks.

Not only that, but the variety actually makes character building in the game worth it, because one way or another you are getting rewarded for your choices. Hell, even going for a weird combo like, say, Akakiru with Trapper background can still reward you. How else can we even go into agenda posting for our favorite styles? (Aoyu and Kuro still on top btw)
I talking more writing wise than gameplay wise, in AC the reaxtivitiy is unparalleled, sometimes i wish i was able to access all variations of every page
 
Tbh POMAs biggest sin imo is that it is tol empty, both character wise and event wise

Pan bo, for example, we meet him during the sect mission, we spare him and then.... we meet him 1 more time have a brief conversation joke about killing some Hes buy him medecine ask him a couple questions, but then we dont interact again

Hao fan as another example, we meet at the elevator, we talk a bit he gives us an offer, we accept and then... no events nor interactions with him until after the expo and even then, we only join his tea parties that involves him, but focuses more on the other members, which i like because character interactions

Wu dong, we help him join the autumn reed society, we drink with him and then... never mentioned again

Tigress, we meet her at the first tourny (one where we dont really learn much about her, which makes sense a character introduction is supposed to show glimpses of a character), we see her in the outer disciple tourny, and we hug her, but we never interact, then the 1 v 3 happens, she asks us to be her master we have ***, but once again not much interaction, then the expo happens one or two jokes about her being now disabled, and then she leaves

Long chen, we meet during the ai event, we meet him during the other ai event, we meet him in the expo, exchange 2 or 3 lines of dialouge that kind of charactrize him, but no where near enough, and then... he asks us for a favour, most of the time that we "talk" with long chen is a few spoken words and that is it

Jing guo we talk to him like 4 times, once to buy his shares, the other 2 times we save him from the puritiy legion, and once to being him back

Wu chao and mei the dirty snake are the only two who i believe are good characters, to begin with mei

Mei gives you her fake self along with some poison, after the poison she come in with the cure acting worried and and pleading with the mc to let her help them
And after this she begs the mc tk help her kill the monster called long chen, and if the wu heir agrees she sends a cheeky letter.
And after the expo we come and see her true self, her other face. How we both joke about how much of a shame it would be for her audience to not understand the meaning of her song and dance. For her to then ask of you to assist her with a deal for it to then change into if you could kill the bloodhunter for her, and for her to betray you. And after some confessions and talks things change. She asks for you to scam a fool and then a scene of passion and help. She has far more scenes but at the same time it is never for pleasure only, it fits her. We know she is using us and we dont mind, it fits her charater.

The other is wu chao, we talk to him 3 times and only in one do we truly talk
In the first during our childhood, once again we do t really talk, we just interact, the second before the 1 v 12, we once again dont truly talk, we just inform him of how things are going, we are basically thawing the ice ever so slightly, but the third time we talk, we truly do talk,

we talk about how ****ed the clan is, how lovely it would be abandon all that weights on our shoulders, we imagine how our future will be and if we tell him that we are unsure if we will live long enough for the future to come he scolds us and pours more wine.
We ask if he would like another child but without the strings that are on our backs, we let him remeinice about a mother we never had, we see a joy in his eyes about what was and the love in his eyes
We promise to reverse the scars that we caused.

It fits him, he is our estranged father, practically cursed by the world, huanted by his love, keeping a child that took everything from him all because of a promise with a soul that no longer exists.


All in all, the biggest problem with poma is the lack of character scenes, the sect doesnt feel like a sect, it feels more like many unconnected islands that happen to be under one banner

But in anycase the fights in poma are better than in AC and most other CYOA games, so a big W for niki
Can't say I agree that POMA fights are better than AC.
