You have to change the stats then go to the next page for the stats to take affect

Hi! I'm sorry this may sound annoying but could u please elaborate? Bc on some apps I only see "mod menu" and then when u click on it, it shows a blank space with u to write on a number. I wrote any number and refresh but nothing happens. Same with the other app where it has a cheatmode and everytime I change it, it may take effect for a few seconds but when I change the next page it comes back to normal

First of all, I want to appologize if this isn't the right place for troubleshooting questions, but i'm very tired and I've been struggling for a couple hours now.
I'm on PC. After extracting the APK, no matter what I do, trying to start the game results in a pop-up that says "Error: Couldn't load scenes/startup.txt.json The file is probably missing or empty."
As far as I can tell, in their 'assets' folder both this game and Noblesse Oblige have a folder titled 'scenes' full of .txt and .json files in addition to index.html, whereas Royal Affairs (which works fine) just has a .html labelled '404r'. Am I just a little too sleep deprived to see the very obvious solution to this? Please help!
