Yes, that was my initial assumption as well, but my friend (not the kind one who enlightened me, but the miserable one who gives me this information) said that the context of the conversations going around was something like, “Who would turn down a guaranteed future god as a disciple?” or something along those lines. That’s why it doesn’t make much sense, since several questions arise: “If a god, or even just an Immortal Emperor, protects the MC, who would dare threaten him?”, "If you’re looking to strengthen your clan/sect or raise a disciple, why would you refuse someone who is guaranteed to become a god in record time?", "If what Sovereign and the other gods ‘liked’ TW and what they want most is another god to strengthen humanity, why would they deny all support to the best possible candidate?"

I think the answer to that is in the game already is it not? If you ask Yue Yan about guaranteed adoption/protection from the clan, she/he says that while protecting you and watching over you is something that they could maybe manage, adopting you into their clan would definitely mean war as Tang Wei has so many powerful enemies including Immortal Emperor's and/or some Gods.

Even if the Wu Heir is guaranteed to become a God in record time, I think the question is it worth it for them in the short-run at least.

Considering that the Wu Heir can get randomly slimed out even with the Yue Clan's protection/adoption, is causing a war on a Celestial scale worth it for someone that you don't even know for certain will become a beneficial ally/God in the end?

If the MC is 100 virtuous/honorable then yeah maybe it is, but a demonic/dishonorable or even neutral MC? Who knows? They sure don't.

Besides, if what was stated is true - that Gods are more or less equal to one another, it's not like making the Wu Heir a God in 3 or so million years is an auto-win for them in the end. An advantage to be sure - but not so overwhelming as to wage war on a massive scale for millions of years, especially considering that they are a 'morally good' faction.

Exactly, Yue Yan comments it when discussing about the terms of the alliance. Since she offer her father(Dark Moon Immortal Emperor) as a backing instead of being adopted in the Yue Clan. You can ask "What if a Deity want to eviscerate my ***?" And she'll explain that TW didn't made a enemy of any other Deity.

I feel like the potential suffering is overrated, since the enemies don't have a genuine god to back them. And if they're expecting an alliance with only us providing that was never going to happen anyway.

I interpreted the little chance line taking into account people who wants to kill you that kind of thing along with bad luck so if people aren't sabotaging wu heir then he does it record time and comfortably so I think both things can be true for once because I remember when the god plot and talks were new niki used to say wu heir has the best shot to become god but still say the chance is little since there is a lot to do before that with that and becoming god is a long path even if you do it in record time that said even if we take my interpretation of his statements it contradicts his talks about wu heir having no stakes outside poma and having it easy which we all know is bullsh*t since even if wu heir reaches godhood in 1000 years it means niki could write non stop action of people wanting to kill the mc and it would mean you either grow or die which has been on par for Wu heir even in poma so gods protect you from other gods or even Immortals while rest is something you have to handle on your like even a tests of sorts but either way we have no hope for this niki doesn't want to write Wu heir maybe if someone pays him 100k usd for continuing WU Mc story maybe then Nikolai might continue Wu heir saga.
Also people underestimating wu heir in a way makes sense since tang wei didn't give us any manuals or anything really at all while the world we are in doesn't even have qi and wu heir can die so easily right now still dream weaver should take mc under his protection lol it doesn't make sense for him no to he considers mc Tang wei one God's support should be enough so this is once again niki just not caring about what makes sense.

Talking about Yan i think it's pretty clear he/she is a jade sentinel to get influence outside the yue clan since the clan is divided into two factions with her father's faction and the other faction and the way he/she was trying to get their father to become MC's ward to strengthen his position I think it feels pretty apt that being independent outside the clan is to break the deadlock and get more influence for his/her father
