Xiwen does call our grandfather master in that present scene after expo so that could be true. Even if he is not our grandfather he is certainly working with the rebels as seen in the scene when their sect enters and he is politely talking with civilians who Lady butterfly uses for possession.

That pond he saw must have had something to do with Lady Butterfly ig. But how tf did she manage to manipulate or convince people who are much knowledgeable and wiser than MC? It's clear from one convo with MC that she's sus af. She kills innocents and doesn't put the effort to cover it up or the cult-like vibe, she visibly falters at the mention of SLM and refused to elaborate. Maybe grandpa killed Yang Chen and is now possessing his body? Lady Butterfly knows how to possess people, it's not shocking to see she might have taught it to Delun who used it to infiltrate the Empire.

Also that’s how cults work, from the outside we are like that’s suspicious but they can never see what we do. Sage fits the bill of how I think Delun will act since he’s one of the weaker S, he’d rely on his wisdom than brute.

It’s all the “for the greater good” type people, what’s a small amount of sacrifices for when they think they’ll become the new rulers of the world overthrowing Tangs. She clearly probably told them about some of their knowledge, she fed their curiosity and they’re all mesmerized in their cult. I think they truly are trying to do “good” but will be led along by LB when she obviously turns on the whole world lol. Who knows maybe they’re also using her to get what they want then try to get rid of her. I think they’re basically using each other.
Doubt that will be possible tbh, and I would hold off for MC being rightful heir, not only does MC has family on the rogue side alive who lived there, it seems like some rogues hate MC mother for running away. Like yeah Delun might support us, but doubt others will feel the same. Also you’re forgetting about Shadow he’s one of the rogue rulers right? And he’s like the 5th strongest S if I’m remembering correctly, doubt he’d give up everything to MC right now. Idk I’m staying neutral still nothing they offered enticed me, not like I’d accept anyways.
