Talking about the Tournament. Does anyone know what the prize is for winning?
I mean, in the beginning, it was an internal Sect Tournament and the prize was to become the Prime Disciple. But now it's a "World" Tournament between all the Houtians, I just don't remember reading about the prize. Like, I think that if the winner is someone from the Sect, he or she would be elected Prime Disciple, but this obviously wouldn't be the case if an outsider won. I assume it's something incredible, including the prizes for the other positions, since everyone is so obsessed with it, even though almost everyone doesn't have the slightest chance.

The prize was probably not mentioned because the whole tournament is a sham, just a trap to catch the rogues, and everything is going to fall apart later without a winner being declared.
There's one prime disciple for each sect right? Besides this has to be distraction for an attack elsewhere. Elders of all the sects might be present during the final battles which leaves the rest of the sect undefended. Does anyone know what the map for POMA looks like? I initially thought it might be a plot to steal the ancestral droplet for LB but idk how the world looks like.
There still has to be an official prize even if the whole thing is a scam. If one of the participants asks "wait what do we get if we win" they can't just say "shhhh it's a secret ;3" can they?
Didn't the same thing happen with the expedition? Well, at least I don't remember them mentioning any prize or anything like that and of course they can say it's a secret. The strongest people are the ones who organized that tournament, right? Who would be crazy enough to complain?
And surely there are people who sign up even without knowing if there’s a prize or not, right? I mean, our MC is one of them, isn’t he?

Expedition is part of training
The expedition wasn’t just simple training; if that had been the case, the Sects who organized that competition wouldn’t have spent so many resources just to cheat and place PHs in that. But even so, they forced several people to participate without a prize, or at least they never told us there would be a prize for winning. Why would it be different for this tournament? They could even use the excuse that fame or some nonsense like that is a sufficient reward.
No. The MC is being "forced" to participate and rank at least in the top 10.
Totally forgot this. The elders wanted MC to advance to PH before the tourney. They wanted MC to participate. I don't think they said anything about ranking?
If I remember correctly Yang Bohai didn't specify an exact reward, but he did say something like "pills, training manuals, techniques, all will be within your grasp should you succeed. ****His eyes narrow.**** Do NOT fail me." In the scene where he starts sending people into the danger zone.
Nobody has announced a reward for the expedition because no one knows what they can give for completion of challenges of Danger Zone. Yang Chen in his book about Danger zone said that zones «unimaginably rich with all kinds of resources and serve as a backbone of martial civilization», but every zones are different and resources also should be different, so should be reward from sect for these resources. So sects probably take part (maybe even all) of resources that disciples get in exchange of appropriate amount of sect points and more common things (like pills, artifacts, manuals, etc.). But why MC get nothing from expedition? Well,most likely reason because Nicky hate MC and afraid to give to us more advantages, but maybe it's because the only valuable thing from expedition is qi stones (which can be used only by few individuals)
Top 10 in the tourney right? Top 10 in Arena is impossible unless Niki goes back and adds a bunch of fights. Or maybe top 10 is just a figure of speech to say we must reach PH.
tbh the ranking system is so stupid you have points that you earn by winning the more points you got the higher ranking and money but you only get 1/5 of the points of the ranking of enemy means beating a 300 ranker you get 50 if you win even if you dominate him fully you still be considered much weaker than the enemy in the ranking nicky should have done something like
there are 1000 or so spots beating someone you get their spot and for example if we have 1000 ranked than place 1 gets 1000 contribution or if you want to balance it only 1/4 (250points) contriution monthly and you can just have the 1000 spots and anyone under it has to beat one of 1000 to get into it while the one beaten goes 1 ranking down and the 1000th place gets removed from the ranking
That's right. It's about the Tournament. Not even in our wildest dreams would Nicky let us surpass Ruo so soon (before the tournament), even in just the Rankings.
But I'd like more Arena fights, one for each free roam opportunity after the Auction.
I dont mind the rating and sect point stuff, but its too much of a grind. Best way to mitigate it is by making it so that you recieve more points if you challenge higher rated opponents when you have very lower rating and increase it till you reach a certain rating and then lower it to a maximum threshold till you get to the top. Its easier to explain with a graph but i belive it will be too difficult or even impossible to code without the proper libraries. So in simple terms, You gain more points when youre rated low in the arena and earning points in the arena becomes difficult after reaching a certain rating. This certain rating can change depending on the ratings of all the placeholders.
Ngl, i love them all. Desdemona is the least interesting for me (comparing the other ones) , but i still like all of them. I hope we don't really have to lock routes in AC hehehe
