Path of martial arts: leaked sneak peaks, and discussing thread

Also, unlike most of us here, i didnt have a problem with LC being stronger than MC. He had TW's inheritance, he's 10 years older than the MC, and it set a good benchmark to compare MC with. The fact MC will probably reach his level with a deficit of 7 years is good enough to me. MC will probably reach his level in 3 years of cultivation.
My problem with LC isn't even that he was stronger—like you said, the guy was ten years older and had two more stages of advantage (and honestly, he was pretty weak; MH MC survived two of his attacks, one of them at full power, without even coming close to death)— my problem with him is simply that he’s really annoying—his whole personality is, “I’m arrogant because I can take a beating like a dog and then knock out my exhausted opponent after he’s been violating me for hours.”

Also, the way I see it, LC is a victim of MC, and it doesn't even have to be the current one. The fight would go something like this: a casual punch, LC turns into a mist of blood but regenerates; another casual punch, turns into a mist of blood and regenerates; and this repeats a few more times until he runs out of energy and dies. This guy is only a problem when you have to constantly waste energy fighting him, but if your stats are already naturally that high, he's just a punching bag.

Edit: Just to clarify: I'm referring only to PH LC, not the current LC, whose current capabilities I know nothing about.

Man It would be pretty nice to have your own homie you can talk to since wu heir has zero friends cause he is literally the most comically evil psychopath imaginable.
True. Thunderfaller gets to have the two Taios chime in and talk to him here and there, Wu Heir should also gets to schizo out by talking to the two voices in his head (Devil and Tang Wei).

Ruo looks like Yamcha everytime she fights anyone relevant but no the side characters will glaze her over someone who has zero loses. One of them is someone who regularly reverse jumps dudes, has never lost a single fight in their life, the single most talented being of all time in the entire universe, most powerful rarest physique in existence, genuinely EX level, has a incredibly powerful transformation into an unparalleled mythical beast, possesses the blood of the highest potency, unparalleled body and qi talent, Dao so immaculate it has heavens p*ssing their pants, the other is Ruo.
Niki has an idea in his head for an underdog mc and tries to force it to an illogical level, like sure it makes sense Ruo believes she's far more powerful and the same applies for the other high tiers of houtian like yeah that makes sense they're assholes but why in all hell does the entire martial world choose to ignore your many victories--depending on your run you can match to far surpass Ruo, we don't talk enough about soloing the free for all--you're a core disciple of a heavenly sect under either the number one or two guy or the sectmaster (I'm going to ignore Ma Rin) you're one of the most likely to have won the prime disciple tournament and even without it you and Ruo were the only two people with a shout, by Jov you could advance into houtian on your own before you even join the sect, mid battle against the celestial heir and unlike her it can't be swept under the rug by the weight of pills and elixirs you've been using since childhood
By all logic Wu Heir should've been worshipped since the day he walked into the sect a self made immortal with a victory over Ruo and with 100% blood purity, the fact the Wu are in such dissarey should add to that because you being a Wu is like whenever anyone starts playing a bit too well in Brighton Hove Albion, anyone with actual resources should be salivating at the chance to poach you, off inner energy alone you were gonna become more powerful than prime Yichen and failing that you'd atleast be a shangtian within his ball park
In AC nobody taking you serious makes sense because you come from a backwater with barely any resources are a former labourer with barely any knowledge on martial arts and to add to that your sect master would much rather bed pigs than train you, unlike Wu Heir your greatest victories up until the archon tournament weren't done infront of adoring crowd, thelightbringer fight being the exception
Wu Heir goes from unmatched talent to genuine monster in a handful of years and despite making no attempt to hide it no one in the sect is aware? Not even Mei Mei, as your ally or enemy and not Ruo despite being your self confessed rival

This has to come with a complete rewrite, right? With Caihong maybe becoming a person I can stomach

I'm already annoyed this girl crawls into my bed at night, I'm running straight to my dad Bohai if some 10 foot tall freak sneaks inside my house. or god forbid, asks to lick my face
Dissapointed in anyone who didn't try and climb that 10 foot mountain
Call her everest wayy I'll never rest

Actually, talking about DES reminds me of all the talk about Wu Heir being the true one walking the path of invincibility.

Do you all consider DES fight a defeat for Wu Heir? I mean, there are valid arguments to say it was.
I think in its current state it is an L to be honest.

It's not a power the MC knew he had and went in not relying on it. Besides the whole replaced personality and knowledge thing really does it for me. It's not the Wu Heir's W but the Devil's, since the Devil utilized techniques that the MC had no access too without even teaching them to him.

It was a good way to introduce the Devil I grant you, but I would still love for there to be a way to solo. Because like you and others have said before - the progression has changed, and I think rightly so.

Niki at that point was still trying to game-balance the lore by saying that Qi Refining = Houtian, Qi Sea = Xiantian, Core Formation = Shangtian. But now that we know that it's just not true anymore, I believe there is no point in trying to hold on to that system of classification.

Even before the rework, Niki stated on Discord and Tumblr multiple times that talented and resourceful cultivators at Qi Sea and Core Formation would be way stronger than their respective MA stages anyway, so this system only worked when relying on the fact that the MC was A.) Not that talented. and B.) Didn't have any recources.

But now that he's shifted away towards a more cultivator wide world focused story, we are revealed to be actually the N1 in overall talent and potential, and also offered and given resources to feed that talent.

The problem is, like I said before, that the early-game now seems very lackluster. Niki did the right thing with the rework, because if you can lore-wise be that powerful with enough resources and talent, both of which we know have, then why shouldn't you?

He determines the system, the loot, the balance, the stats - basically everything. So when he built a system that allowed people to reach levels of power that were outside of his initial plan, he only had two options:

1.) Remove the extra Qi, abilities, traits, and loot, therefore making the game less interesting and fun in general.

2.) Rework the lore, stats, and narrative in such a way that it now accounts for a potentially overpowered MC.

IMHO he did the right thing picking the second option, as the first one would lead to more disappointment and feel like a cop out.

Not even in a handful of years, We were in a coma for 3 years with a progress reset at the end, so we become the monster we are in a handful of months. The cult guy in the expo even says that people that walk by you say that you are trash. Like who is even qualified dawg? Ruo? Who has not won a single time against us and gets aura mogged everytime she is on screen? Most probably some random jealous bums that will never amount to anything in their pathetic lives.

Hard Agree, so glad that Niki didn't take the easy way out. He has confirmed that CF MC will not be weaker than Yue Yan, who can fight two stages above her own, so he is making sure that when we show power that is appropriate for the greatest genius in existence.

You also gotta consider the fact that the Wu clan is literally universally considered by other nobles (who make up most of the sect) to be complete and utter bums run by an alcoholic lecher who isn't even a Shangtian. And bear in mind that they don't even know it's not his fault.

Now take the Wu Heir - he is considered to be the child of a lowborn maid by the vast majority of people, comes into the tournament poor as hell with only his dad's pissstained robe (if even that), and then apparently everyone must now believe that this waste of noble blood is supposed to be 100% BP and equal to TW himself, when there is a shining figure in the form of Prince Ruo who everyone already knows is a complete genetic and alchemical experiment, raised by two Shangtian's one of whom is the strongest one ever on top of being the Emperor of their country. He behaves like a dignified and intimidating prince to those he deigns to speak to, completely ignores others, and also is fighting people above his stage a month or two after arriving to the sect.

While the Wu Heir by that point has one fluke (to them) mid-battle advancement victory, which is to them unfair as hell. And even considering the fact that the Wu Heir can advance to MH literally within a month of becoming EH, he doesn't show anything comparable to Ruo who doesn't even need to be a MH to fight them, and then when he fights a semi-strong LH he beats his *** with his OWN proprieatary clan/personal technique after also advancing mid-battle (which doesn't seem unfair since the opponent is still of a higher stage AND because to them it just reinforces the cognitive bias).

For AC I think you're right, but the situation is also very different. First of all most Cultivators there aren't nobles but Warriors who for all their faults still respect strength more than status (at least the normal ones), the fact that Anon literally said that the MC has plot armor and makes it a point to state that the MC just happens to arrive to a gate at the most opportune moment (before the Foundation change), and after the Foundation change you get help with 10 billion different strings attached and only because the world saw you beat the prospective Top 1 contender at the time whose reputation had him up on the highest pedestal.

I'd get it if you consider Wu Heir to be Tang Wei, but otherwise how can you consider the devil your own?
It is a power born from us, more specifically TW. I consider TW to be an inferior version of Wu Heir but still wu heir in some sense. The main reason is that devil breakouts are a well known phenomena in the verse, some techniques like Heavenly Asura Transformation even rely upon it, Many people even trigger it to win a fight. In fact, many demonic cultivators even use it as a trump card, If DES is allowed to use Karmic Arts to kill a demon, then why should a demonic power be off the table for us? Can the devil even survive without us? It is technically more cheating to use talismans or artifacts than it is to use the devil.

Glad to hear that Niki has said something (never believe Niki). But did he meant the CF MC with the same resources as Yue Yan or the CF MC on the PoMA world?

Because if it's the first option then absolutely yeah no question. MC is above in talent, creativity, and also potentially comprehension and their ability to dual-cultivate Body and Dao at an equal level.

If it's the second option, then I think he meant not Yue Yan in general but the debuffed by the Heavens/PoMA world Yue Yan, which would be the absolute peak of CF I assume.

So as someone here has stated before - if the power level allowed to exist on the PoMA world is 1-100, then prime Yichen was 94-95, and perfected CF MC and Yue Yan would both be 100. So technically not weaker but also can't become stronger without getting kicked from the server.

Being an underdog at first is fine, but that should only be the case of we are being compared to Ruo. We have since achieved feats like aura mogging and soloing the 3v3 as well as taking on the DES which is 5 high tier peak Houtians with individual strength just below the top 10, strong teamwork and most importantly karmic arts designed specifically to counter us and still winning. These are feats that completely dwarf whatever Ruo has done on screen. This can be offset by repeated shocking off-screen feats by Ruo but the difference should not be this big, some random bums definitely shouldn't be this arrogant.

He prolly would pick your boots if you were that strong compared to him. Why do you think he got his way into the expendition?

You'd be surprised at how big of a difference social standing and previous rep makes.

Imagine you have a favorite football player who is the undisputed goat of the generation, the grandson of the previous undisputed goat, and has been displaying extreme skill and ability left and right ever since he was a kid. When it comes the time to join the pro's, some random dude who you've heard is from a family of bad disgusting people (to the other noble MAs) comes in and states that he's actually the new gen goat.

Yeah when they measure his potential it says that there is a marginal difference of a couple percentage points (which could be explained by an error), and then he does beat your goat due to what you consider to be a fluke, and then just goes off the radar for a while to do his own thing, while your goat goes on to publically display even crazier feats for months on end after rising from what you assume to be an unfair defeat.

And then to make it even worse for the Wu Heir, he comes out of the expedition a cripple and in a coma in which he stays for 2 whole years, all the while your goat keeps stacking rep, even HEROICALLY trying to take on an EX (again to them).

It's just an optics thing. But after the tourney start and after we display our power in the free for all and 3v3, people actually do start turning around on the Wu Heir, but it simply hasn't been enough time for a complete turnaround.

And it needs to be remembered that most of Ruo's L's happen in ways that don't ever reach the general public and even the close-knit elite circles.

Ruo's rogue L? - Completely hidden except for the fact that he came back injured. But because YG (the undisputed Top 1 of the arena who is also above Ruo in stag ) disappeared as well, they chalk it up to some unwinnable situation like a X fight or something.

Ruo's YG L? - Happens in the dead of night with only you and later Sheng Jue around.

Ruo's sneak attack L? - Actually acknowledged if you have a fan club or high rep. Too ambiguous to be a defining point.

Ruo's LC Xiantian fight L? - Viewed as a heroic and/or vengeance moment that no one expected him to win. So no major rep change.
