Putting this out there, both for the curious ones, and for the IF writers who are lurking here on a daily

Aside from the fact that it's so soulless and dead, the IF/WIP community never fails to disappoint with their retardation. Wannabe writers dumping their first projects to start another one that they are going to dump as well. Yall retards might as well pack it up :ROFLMAO:

maybe it's due to my grown age, or it's probably the high level of my head's maturity which keeps on developing instead of remaining stunted like yours, either way i had undergone an epiphany that made me realize just how exaggerated nd over the top ur reactions are, jesus. you are talking about passion projects ur not forced to pay for, ur entitlement and condescending attitude is breaking the charts as if those damned authors are using tools and coding materials created by u personally which would then excuse you calling them retards over words on a screen produced by them nonetheless 😂😂😂🫵🏻🫵🏻 don't u think urself the retarded, silly one in this equation. like omg man, u either grow the hell up nd pull ur head from how it's lodged so far up your bum, or go pick up a pen or a keyboard and try to chug out hundreds or thousands of words for a chapter nd keep on doing it for months and years on end, then we'll see how long would your big boy talk hold up. I understand/dig up nd encourage criticism and frustration concerned with specific features, plot lines, or even venting frustration abt characters or certain behaviors since majority of the authors act like you might as well have killed their family than talk a bit harshly abt the directions they're taking with their stories. however, acting like a teen whose entire neurological system is frying up cause puberty rolled in, over an author abandoning a work for reasons beyond ur comprehension is plain stupid, moreover this the retarded behavior instead matter of fact. get a life i beg of you lmaooo, I'm genuinely starting to feel second hand embarrassment whenever I see a cmt made by you.

nd for the record, this behavior of starting projects only to nuke them had actually been a thing for years now, like *gasp* not a newly discovered phenomenon. so u either adapt or hit the exit door mate, the edgy behaviour is getting ridiculously old.

I mean you can say whatever the **** you want to say, but you're just being a dumb one in here now mate. Because you can't call a public thing "just a passion project" mainly because it is public, and it involves an audience now. So that comment is just simply pulled out of your zen ***.
But I do wonder, what made you swing their way? You "growing up" can't be a reason, because this comment is anything but a proof of that, so it has to be something else.
And sure, while I don't make those shits myself, if you're not going to commit to one, why ****ing make it in the first place? Why make it public in the first place? Imagine if video game companies just gave you an alpha release 90% of the time, only to scrap it and be like, yeah we don't give a **** really, it's just a "passion project". Make it make sense:rolleyes:
Oh and don't feel the second hand embarrassment. If you're so high and mighty, I'm not even sure why you're interacting with this. Especially considering that a known groupie of the retards is on your side, judging by the like on your comment.
Mf said get a life:ROFLMAO: Why don't you hop off from here then, a baby sized piracy website for ifs and wips if you're so preoccupied with having a life yourself:ROFLMAO:

And no, you don't adapt to bullshit you slave mentality "grown" man. Just because it has been happening for years on end, that does not justify it for continuing to happen. That's like saying, oh well crimes and shootings and **** have been happening from the dawn of time, why not just adapt and make them legal now?
I swear, your comments are just ridiculous, especially considering your "grown expanded awaken mind". Give me a ****in break:ROFLMAO:

While i agree with some of your points, especially your point of the edgy tone being a bit too... juvenile in some posts, I disagree with the rest. *just because you are bit older or the tone is.. well.., doesnt mean you should dismiss valid points.

the thread is clearly about ranting and pointing issues the OP finds with the IF space. And please, it's not as if some of these so called 'writers' aren't milking their 'free/passion project' audience for years on end.

This is a real problem which continues to plague and choke the IF space even now. When one has opened a Patreon or kofi, and are offering subscription tiers for certain services, then yes, the audience (mostly the ones who pay but also the potential customers) have the right to comment on certain things they find problematic.

I said my piece, now please continue. This thread has been entertaining these days (not more than the aura clash thread though)😄.

THANK YOU Sokrates! You truly live up to your name! 🙏 🙌
Because as I said, when all that hits the public, it's not just a passion project or a hobby anymore. Sure, depending on the circumstances you don't have to work on it daily, but those morons are selling ideas and then you'll have Mondy or the one of the usual suspects Anabelle tell you that you should just stfu and move on. No can do sir, not on my watch. Not until the community gets cleared of those toxic traits that it just oh so loves (milking fans, selling their dumb ideas and filling the space with unfinished shits just so they can vent their OC lores or clutter the space so the stories that do need to be recognized never do, etc.)

that's literally what I'm talking about. I'm talking abt projects which aren't demanding anything out of their fan base. those authors who keep on dragging clearly abandoned wips as a desperate last attempt to upkeep relevancy while simultaneously sucking dry those delusional fans who still hold a smidgen of hope over the project return are who deserve the short end of the stick. abandoning projects, nuking blogs, discontinuing story lines how is any of this harmful or retarded??? I've been in this community for almost a decade nd the projects that are dropped are higher in percentage than the ones that get published?? I simply don't gaf or go out of my way to call them wannabe writers, like sure let me target authors who performs editing, proof reading, planning, plotting, and writing a damned retard because they suddenly realized this project isn't for them nd they decided to probably start smt else in hopes it'll stick around.

writing is an extremely isolating, depressing process that drains ur energy if you're not receiving the sufficient support from any circle you sought. I wrote what equates a novel in terms of size, so unless any of those entitled mfs know what writing entails on someone's mental health, then using the word retarded should be directed towards them.

Oh woe is me.
And yes, I know what writing is like, and how it is like. I've done it for myself for a long time, so I think that I can call out some bullshit when I see it. Also, writing is not depressing and it doesn't hinder your mental health. If that's the case for you, then you should seek help and not copium.

Also, what the **** does this sentence mean? I'm legit trying to understand, but I'm failing here. You're defending abandoning projects, nuking blogs and discontinuing story lines?
Picture this, right. Imagine if this became the norm, because everyone is like you and suddenly just start to accept that **** as is and are "moving along". People would get money for nothing, while wasting a **** ton of your own time! All the while not selling you anything! You're just donating money for a hypothetical idea! Wow!
I mean if that's something that you like to do, then by all means. Who am I to judge.

Just know that you are not right on this subject. On either of them, to be precise. It's because of people like you that they are even feeling comfortable to do this in the first place.
Because if that wasn't the case, and if they were getting insane backlash for doing **** like this, I guarantee that we would barely have any discontinued/abandoned/nuked ifs/wips. Instead, we would have more finished works, even though the general quantity would be less, but it is what it is.

So to someone who's been a decade on this website, I suggest you what you suggested to me. Get a life. Besides, weren't you the one who told me that I'm being angry over pixels on the screen? Aren't these just pixels on a screen? :ROFLMAO:

Remember kidos, if the writer is on Tumblr and is friends with the already established retards (IF community as a whole almost) on there, chances are that that wip is not worth your time, or anyone else's for that matter. Even worse if their main focus is engagement with "fans"

Look at me, looking out for good people on here, and their time in a day :ROFLMAO: ;)

I must add that I find those shitty *** "if informative blogs" to be quite useless and just generally retarded overall.
Like, I can't possibly understand how are you calling yourself an info blog about ifs and wips, then not do any of the research yourself, and instead are relying solely on people tagging your ***, and even then, they are biased to all ****.
While I was doing reconnaissance for my boy L, I stumbled upon some interesting ****, and it's basically that if they don't like you, they won't post your ****. Literally. Imagine that.
Journalism at its finest. I don't like you, or just simply **** you, so I as an information blog, won't post **** that falls under that category because of my fragile feelings. Gotta offer their ******* to their audience ig.
So my advice to those retards is this. Just delete those blogs, move on to something else, and that's it. No need to play pretend at some bullshit that you're not even doing🤦‍♂️

I just stumbled onto this thread together and let me drop my opinion.

I used to feel like you, pissed at authors that would be releasing good and consistent work then just deciding to paywall their stuff or even worse endlessly extend their work or deadline for profit. Like this person used to release 100k words a month now they're putting out a few pages a week while constantly giving excuses.

It felt like they were deceiving me or they were cunning.

Then I actually tried writing myself.

Holy hell this **** is hard as **** bro, pumping out 2k words is a miracle sometimes. Not to mention the pressure, I have to write something that's good enough and not to mention I was dead broke at the time and all my hopes were depending on writing. It felt like squeezing all the juice from a dried up orange.

I have never complained about delays since, I now shut the **** up. Because I get it man, I would do the same thing if I could pump out a few words a few words each month and relax, I would do the same thing man.

This writing **** is not free for the author, it has heavy costs bro. I'm not going to stress myself out, work hard and research for free. I'm not a slave, if you like someone's writing you should expect to pay them for it. (Pretty crazy for someone in a pirating website to say, I know)

Still not defending those shitty authors that give false promises, but otherwise never again am I complaining about something I get for free again.

I mean I feel what you're saying, but I'm mostly pointing at the writers who are actually at fault, and not normal, good ones. Just take a quick look at what I say, and you'll see that I'm only shitting on mfs who deserve it, but also the if space in general, since that ***** is riddled with faulty things in it, which is why this thread exists.

For me personally, writing is not hard. And not only that, but what I also want to point out, is that I get that people want to make money off of it, but let me put some things into perspective here.
Some are writing for years on end. Let's say 3 years for this example.
They will make you pay, let's say 8 bucks, right. 8 x 12 is 96 bucks a year, just from one person. Times 3 years, that's 288 bucks just from one person.
Let's say they have 200 paying subs. That's 57 600 bucks in three years, for doing barely anything. Writing a little here and there, which is usually the case, since works aren't in the multiple millions in word count.
What you'll see though, is that I used small numbers here. There are mfs who will write for 5+ years, giving you like 10k words in half a year. They will milk the soul out of you, and for what? So you can theoretically pay 300+ bucks for a game, that may or may not come out in the end. Better yet are those that instantly open patreons and kofis and ****, and you pay for nothing, basically just donating money to the wind. What of those?
And there is a shitload of people like that in the if space. Not only that, but that is one among many things that are bad within it, which is what I'm pointing out, and shitting on.

And I'm also not complaining about things that I get for free. I'm complaining about things that I like, that just disappear without a ****ing trace, with no explanation. Though not always, since you'll never see me **** on Vendetta 😭

So yeah, to conclude, I will continue pointing **** out that I find bothersome, while I will leave the good ones alone, as I've already been doing:ROFLMAO: Still, thanks for contributing! Your words do hold merit, it's just that they do not completely apply to what I'm doing, since it's a misconception of what I'm doing

No I do get you and I personally just enjoy talking and sharing ideas like this. It's what the internet is for!

Now to just continue, For writers once you have an audience making money becomes a bit easier. I think it's fair jist like how movies, influencers or sports people make money. It's not that what they produce is better than other products but that it can be sold to a lot of people and that's okay. Writers should make money.

On that same vein it's also because your writing career can be very unstable, people can stop subscribing and you also have a limited amount of creativity it's not easy to consistently pump out good quality stuff. Writing fill time can easily turn bad, we look at the top successful people but also at the mid level or bottom it's ****ing bleak.

This also ties in to the point that, You don't have to pay the author that does not produce anything. You can sign up when an update releases and immediately stop after that month. You're there for a product and if they don't deliver then you don't have to pay. Any author that expects subs when not doing work is delusional.

As for those subscribers that pay an author even when they don't release. I'm not sure if they are kind, loyal or too lazy to cancel. Again I'm biased but anybody would like to earn while doing the bare minimum

I also enjoy doing this! Not many of people will share this opinion of ours, but it is what it is :ROFLMAO:
And to add to your comment, I agree on all accounts. Still, I'll continue my bullying ways, since those seem to be effective against people, meaning we'll actually be left with good quality content in the end, so win win:ROFLMAO:
