1. I see Darin as a mentor figure to my MC rather than a father figure. An older comrade in arms. I get why some people would be uncomfortable, but it's not that wild for such a dynamic between men in military
2. I like old men
3. I find him to make a more convincing love interest than the M/M option we got (whose name I don't even remember.) They just have more bonding moments together, and he's overall more likable than the other guy (or most of the cast for the matter.)
4. If you look the game up, there are a staggering amount of people out there who wanna **** the half-sister or even the mother. My Darin thirst pales in comparison, trust me.
But all in all, it's not a serious complaint/criticism (like I said, not disappointed) I just found it funny that seemingly he had made two interesting, off-limit older men in both games, with similar names. But now that I know Shonussy is an option, I can't say it's a pattern, and so I'm obligated to get off John's *** lol

I totally see where you’re coming from lmao like, yes..creators can have favorite characters the same way parents might have a favorite kid (even if they don’t usually admit it and it's pretty wrong to do but shh) but the favored character might receive more development, while others remain underdeveloped, feeling less "real" and interesting cuz they're getting all that attention/love.... BUT.. since hah, i still haven't found a character i am that invested in Infamous (besides Victoria? and Blake??) i am all for the gossip and the complaining about Infamous, please keep with it, i LOVEEEE it
Yeah, I get ya. For me, I don't mind authors playing favorite if they don't neglect other chars. In Amy's case, I suppose that's questionable depends on who you ask. Alledgely, her favorite is August, and it's funny how seemingly no one buys that lmao.
I like Blake much, much better than Seven, too. Unfortunately, she seems pretty set on having Blake as a subromance only. Not a main love interest. She has a role for them in mind for the story she wants to tell. Now, that's her perogative. Far be it for me to tell her or anyone what to do, but it really is such a shame. Blake is just better as the 'rivarly' romance thing, because we've actually got to beef with them, and given the choices on what we did, what we didn't do, and how we feel. Seven's beef is pre-determined, something that happened in our backstory off-screen that we have little influence over. For many people, that's fine, but for me it's hard to care, to be invested. Dear lord I cannot stand Killer Chat. It's less being in a server with serial killers, and more being in a group chat with white gays. No wonder the one black character didn't want to be there. Guess I can give it credits for realism. As in, it truly feels like being in a Discord server in the worst of ways. Tumblr kinnies 'I think my friends and I are funnier and more interesting than we actually are' mfs. My suspension of disbelief is all but snapped because not in a million years would I find any of these people to be a legitmate threat. It feels like the worst thing they could do to me is crytyping and vaguing. Perhaps lyricsposting. The influencer character can be interesting, but she is just 'quirky' instead the genuine psycho tendencies irl influencers with burr baskets have, which is a missed opportunity. The Sunset Slasher is the only one who's even mildly tolerable. I HATE goreboy, and not even because his name is goreboy. He makes me feel like this:

LOL glad to know I'm not the only one disliking this VN. I played it months ago and yet I'm still angry of the wasted time playing this VN and I just ended up, UH OK WHERE'S THE ROMANCE???
I have only finished one route (the guy with the horn? and hat? I don't remember his name) and throughout the game he only threatens MC and the pickup lines (if there is any) just went flying over my head. I don't know what the developer is trying to achieve here, but comparing this with Blooming Panic is like a 10 and a 2 (yes I'm generous). The characters in KC are annoying, the romance is the LI threatening MC over and over, and even the ending just got me 🫤. That's it?
I get that the LIs are supposed to be serial killers, but even in seekL where the LI is supposed to be a criminal as well (hacker? I think) still has more satisfying plot and ending. Yes the hacking minigames can get boring but at least I actually can feel the romance there than in KC. And here I thought Error143 was disappointing but KC just effortlessly shattered that thought, lol. I don't think I will play more games by this developer if the quality of the writing will always be the same. And they had the audacity to throw a PAID DLC lol I would rather pay for Blooming Panic DLC.
You're spot on with the romance (or lack thereof.) When I got to the point where we lock in a route, I was confused as to how I even got there necause I've done 0 bonding and the most flirtatious was just..being nice? Saying 'air kisses'?

you totally should check out seekL, it was made by the same developer as Blooming Panic 
though only has one LI and significantly shorter. Prepare for the hacking minigames though, I wish we could skip those. 🫤

I just checked out SeekL. The game lppks so good? I love the UI. And I love the way it starts. Just getting right into it. No beating around the bush. Something about them going 'who the ****' and 'boring ***. kick them' really amused me lol. Plus so far their typing styles aren't annoying like KC. Hard to get into a chatsim when you can't stansld the way the characters chat
Chatsim is really a hit or miss for me. (I was lukewarm about Errorr143 as well.) I feel when it's done well, it's great, otherwise you're just reading Some Guy Texts and that can only be so entertaining
Edit: Finished it. I thoroughly enjoyed that, yes, minigame and all. I understand now why you made the comparison with KC's romance. The chemistry between MC and their LI in SeekL is THROUGH THE ROOF. Bro got me kicking my feet and giggling. It leff me feeling wistful and genuienly fond of the characters despite knowing very little about them. Meanwhile in KC I wish we could actually become a serial killer so I could kill everybody in that server and then myself.

I really tried to like it, but the King's Hound isn't for me. I think it's because of how set the mc is, but that isn't usually a problem for me in other ifs. Maybe it's a mix of that and the ros personalities, they all seem the same. I think that reading all the drama of the other ifs makes me find them boring, they are all soft, the mc is secretly soft, and anyone that doesn't treat you like an abused dog is a meanie. Actually, I think that the other character povs made me dislike them, they just kept pitying the mc.
I'm currently replaying The King's Hound since the update, and I have to agree with you that I don't like it that much. I don't like how the choices are set up. They almost seem too presumptuous, as if the story is set on making our character a certain way. I want to make my character not necessarily evil but close, and it seems like all of the choices have caveats or something. In this story, more often than not, you can't make a stone-faced cold/meanish option without the game inserting that you want to cry underneath it or something (which may be the point of this if ngl), and I'm just like "Nooo my character just wants to be mean. What is this?" You can't even pick a normal option without the characters hovering and nitpicking the littlest reactions from the mc and the mc wanting to freak out and break down. Like what's the point of having options if no matter what they skew towards the mc always being a train wreck feeling sorry for killing and stuff? I want to be meannnnn. And arthur lowkey makes me uncomfortable. We know for the most part his sincerity is real but for some reason it really drives home the feelings of "fake", "too much", and "unrealistic".
i'm still holding out for the premise of being the kings hound and i'm happy it seems to be consistently getting updates for now. Haven't finished it so i might come back and add more.

I stumbled across this while searching for something else and it was hilarious because I actually remember that incident Boleslaw/Zastaw is mentioning.
But he's really misremembering what happened there. The mods really get annoyed at 'no content drivel' and there were several users bouncing around the forum at that time that weren't rating games or anything and just posting way too much with nothing to say. A bunch of the spammy nothing threads finally got rounded up and deleted and they got penalties for shitposting, and then a final STFU warning in that mod thread. I think only two of them managed to follow this complicated instruction. As usual it was a matter of hilarity for the regulars.
It could have gone worse. Like spilling out into real life incidents, but luckily the peasants aren't so braindead. Yet...
Then virtually cracking the whip or just banning was a marvellous idea.
Idk where else to put this but I always find the way amy writes relationships in infamous weird. This is purely about personal preference, though.
Anyways, I just find it weird how seven and avina sleep together "platonically". I just can't imagine two almost thirty year adults doing that. Never heard of that happening in real life. And if did, it would gain a lot of side eyes. At least where I am from. When it comes to mc and seven— they were teenagers. Teenagers have sleepovers all the time. It's also weird how readers are just forced to accept that because if you find it weird then boooo how could you. Hey, even in-game characters like rowan and August were grossed out abt sleeping with the mc. Again, this is just purely personal preference. Maybe it has to do with my upbringing, but I have come across a good bunch of people both on Tumblr and forum who found it strange as well.
The romance options for seven feel like...how do I put this? Borderline harassment? If someone is clearly cussing at me and looks visible uncomfortable with my presence I wouldn't touch their waist or invade their space. Most of the options where you flirt with seven are just...that. Getting into seven's personal space. And it's just....so weird to me. Or when that is not the case, it's just the mc being a doormat or masochist by flirting with seven when they are throwing expletives at them. Like babe, have some self respect, yeah? But then again, if I don't pick those options I am not going to garner the required amount of romance points with them and will miss out on some core scenes. I was hoping if seven's romance could be more slow burn, like idk the flirting options don't show up until seven has become more comfortable around the mc or be more subtle.

I'm gonna generalize and rant A LOT (and definitely will go for a more technical perspective than the stories themselves), so here we go...
Almost all Twine stories, especially the ones which were former CoG wips. I swear there's something in that engine that makes writers post half of a chapter in a period of six months or an entire year.
I understand that learn a new coding language is hard but jfc, there was one IF I've followed around 3 years ago, it had such a diverse CC that hooked me into, and then the demo ended in the prologue, then after 3 months we got chapter 1 part 1, then 6 months later chapter 1 part 2, then another 6 months chapter 2 part 1, then after a whole year lefting the wip to dust, they decide to redo the story, and now we're still trying to reach chapter 2, over almost 3 years.
There's also the lack of choices, which are basically either "next page", wall of questions, or 2 choices that are there to define the personality stat. Guess all effort went to character customization and flavor text regarding those.
I can count with a single hand Wips that were completed or have very active updates.
