Stories that left you disappointed for a reason

Dragon's Covenant seems interesting, but it has so much Gptism in it that I can't bring myself to play it more. At least the author admits he used AI, though not for everything and mainly to translate from his native language to English.

I feel like AI is becoming way too common in IFs now. Out of many WIPs I've played, I felt like a lot of them had AI involved.

I've always written in English, even tho it's not my native language... which is probably the reason why I'm decent at it by now
Like you're not gonna improve if AI does it for you...
But I get it, for many people skill or improvement or whatever is not the point, and I'm just old-fashioned I guess
Tbh I largely stopped going to the forums, or following WIPs aside of the few I already know and like ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Eh you can never be too careful especially on the internet, writing in broken English would get you stomped in some online spaces. Plus honestly the broken English I personally won’t won’t read a story with it, I used to try when I was heavily into novels read MTL and sorry but can’t do it. So I understand why you would use it to translate I understand. If you know English why use Ai that’s just being lazy. Honestly Ai is inevitable tbh, just waiting until more spaces start openly accepting it. It will only get better. The only downside is people just throwing out the Ai accusations with 0 proof. Or people who don’t admit to using it, honestly with stable diffusion you can make some really consistent art and that’s actually scary.

We’ll get used to it, AAA companies are starting to opening use them and movie companies are too, once they happens it will open the flood gates. Ai replacing voice actors and such yeah by 2027 it will be openly used commonly I bet

It will be, I have little doubt.
I don't really want to go on another tangent, especially since I'm just a single person whose opinion hardly matters. No way to stop progress and all that.
I'm just worried about the culture of instant, easy gratification coupled with decline in reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. Effort is not always bad. People need to put in effort to grow. People need to think and analyze and "waste time" on stretching their creative and mental muscles. People need to read actual books and not ChatGPT summaries of them!
And this is all before considering what will happen to the job market if AI does take off even more.
But yeah, we'll get used to it.

Feels like this has something to do with the Septic Saint author leaving, or authors who left Tumblr in general: https://www.tumblr.com/fateunwritte...he-interactive-fiction-community?source=share
Well, from what we can see, instead of driving the assholes away, it just attracted another, even bigger *******:

What to say? Just disgusting

Well its AI we're talking about so of course people will use them, be it good or bad. Also AI keeps getting better and better, like I can't differentiate what's "Human Drawn" or "AI Generated" anymore. Feels kind of inevitable don't you think? Like people literally stroke their meat to AI.

And whats worse is you can't send picture by being anon. So they are that bold to send it without hiding themselves anymore.

Oh don’t worry that was happening even before Ai, TikTok brain rot has already been destroying the youth. Well at least in America lol, I love going on Reddit teachers and being appalled that these kids cannot read or have horrible attention span. I can’t stand on a high horse when I used to cheat in other ways on my homework and stuff when I was lazy. The good thing is all the great great Ais are expensive. People are already copying and getting ideas from each other. Sadly I don’t think they’ve been reading books even before Ai pretty sure I saw a study a few years back blaming technology on the decline. So yeah let’s be honest Ai is not going to be the reason intellect is going downhill it’ll just be the reason it accelerates. Sad to think about because I just love to get into my own world and space and read for hours when I could.

Even if it's not anonymous, they're still hiding behind an account. It's not like they send the pic with their face on it, or reveal their real name and address. Their identity is still protected somewhat. All we know is it's a dude. Also, blocking/reporting the account won't do sh1t, they could just create another one and come back to harass the author

I’m not saying this is what you guys are thinking, but I do want to say that I hope no one assumes a writer is using AI just because their stories include em dashes. I’ve seen writers say they’re going to stop using them because it leads to accusations, which is really unfortunate. A lot of novels have used em long before GPT existed. I just really hate AI, and I’m getting tired of the paranoia it causes, especially for newer authors.

The fact is this, this author showed zero evidence of this so called "d i c k pic", and I know many will take her word at face value but I do not. I believe she's crying like a babe to get attention and for people to feel sorry for something that ultimately did not happen. It will not be the first or last time Interactive Fiction authors do this s h i t. If this did happen though it's pretty hilarious lmao, just move on like for real and quit crying on a social media platform.
It’s hilarious that someone got sent a d*ck pic without their consent? People have every right to be upset about something like that - which is sexual harassment, by the way - and they have every right to make their discontent clear.

It is definitely disgusting, just because our tolerance to some things are f8cked doesn't make it less of an offense. Though I agree on reserving on taking a social media post at face value.

There are more reasons to fake harassment than attention, such as to make a statement. Lots of anons responded to Fateunwritten's previous reminder about boundaries with rational solutions such as giving firm warnings for a no NSFW rule, ignoring asks that crosses the line, etc. Because if they do this, those trolls would soon get tired anyway and leave naturally. She could be saying someone showed dick-pics to strengthen her claim of harassment — to make it sound less like a baseless complain, giving it more weight.

But that's just my cynicism talking.

I believe Fateunwritten could be the type of person to fake harassment. I also believe some rando could send a dick-pic to mess with Fate — I mean, this is the internet. There's no way to know unless you know the author on personal level, but then again, most of the times we don't actually know everything about those closest to us. Many victims are assaulted by the person they trust; that they think they know. We're partial to defend the people we're close to (duh) even if they might be scumbags.

Imma cut my ramblings short. I don't believe anyone would get get what I'm saying. Some of you are already twisting my words to fit your narrative and whatnot and raring to shove them into my mouth (I'm a cynist through and through, we're all maggots swimming in a rotten carcass of a world). Byeeeeeeeee

Are people still doing this in 2025?!? No one wants to see it. What a way of proving their point.
