Thats not the only thing tho, the fact that the authors have specifically spent time to think about how this character ****s, what kinks they have and how big their this and that is. This is not an AVN and tbh I don't think even AVN authors entertain questions like that.

Also I’m not trying to kink shame or anything , but there’s a time and place for everything. I have no problems if it’s a smut IF or even asking slight questions that push the edge. Like some questions I give a pass maybe it helps them visualize better. Some pointless fun questions to pass the time asking how would they react to xyz, some are just weird and just makes me shake my head.
Nothing is left up to the imagination anymore, everything is explained in explicitly uncomfortable details that really don't add to anything since CS IFs are fully in written form!
With VNs and other mediums, reader's interpretation of certain elements are still limited by the fixed visuals.
But in Choice Script Games? We're all free to imagine.
Because that's the point. It's an easier, faster, cheaper option (one person can create a choice script game relatively easily) than to stuff like Choices Stories You Play or Arcana.
I just think it's sometimes a way for people to get their rock off, kink or no kink.
To be honest I find that once you start going down this slide or the scenario side it's an everending pit. Which is why I get when IF author just say no I'm not answering this. Like I get if you asking question about character and other side of them that you might never see but honestly some people are just too much it get annoying.
I remember that one time Bacchanal author got this question and had the gall (/s) to answer that most male versions of ROs are ordinary-sized... Some anons were obviously unhappy and it's still so funny to me.

I was interested in the premise of Woes of the Wretched, but unfortunately, I don't think it's written very well, though I understand English isn't the author's first language. Still, I'm disappointed because it could have potentially been a favorite of mine.
Without them the plot would be pointless, absolutely no driving force thrusting it forward.

For the love of God. I just finished The Thousand of Us, and I don't even know what to say anymore. What is the point of the plot? Some divine beings that caused a cataclysm on Earth and a bastard who tortured the PC's sister, whom his followers worship because he is the last line of defense against these superior beings? It would be interesting if it weren't for a WIP that feels tangled, with unfinished content, with a bunch of macguffins that prevent the PC in their "god" mode from doing whatever they want, like killing Dexter because that route is unfinished, or killing Adam because someone always intervenes, or a new eldritch route that in the long run can further complicate the WIP with all the ramifications. I don't know why I feel like this WIP will never be completed. Meanwhile, its author continues with their Patreon, generating income, also considering that this WIP? project? has existed since 2023, although I am not aware if they have rewritten it in these years.
I get its all tangled up, but that's currently only on the GM path, and that's cause I've focused mostly on the non GM routes this year. Like I said I initially wasn't going to release an update until I thought I was done, but then I started getting **** for it so I just released whatever I felt was ok at the moment to. Part of the changes I was making was finally streamlining GM to be more like other powers rather than convoluted in branches, like the killing Dexter you mentioned, but I didn't get there yet. Plus, no macguffin was going to stop you from doing what you want or killing Adam. Joy just kept trying to get in the way, but you pretty easily already dealt with that.
And yes, I've rewriting the entire thing a bunch of times, if you played it when it first came out, then you might probably notice how the tone and flow changed at least twice with a couple of scenes added and removed. I went through those rewrites using time I could've used to further the story because I was 17 in 2023 when I decided to post this random IF idea I got. Then I got on reddit and saw all the hate I was getting for my "trash writing making the world a slightly worse place". The comments got to me pretty easily, and I initially planned to drop things, but I actually like writing this as a hobby so I started rewriting a lot of things. Anyway, if the income generation part is what makes things feel icky, then I could always just cut that off and work on things myself until whenever.
Let's see. First of all, yesterday when I wrote the review I was really angry about the whole Adam thing. Maybe something good for you would be bad if a character, a priori a villain, only generated indifference; Joy isn't the problem, no matter how annoying she is, it comes more from the other girl she appears with and the barrier. It certainly feels like a MacGuffin that doesn't let the PC kill Adam, a character who is important to the plot in theory, and the other girl, as if she were Naruto evangelizing Nagato, goes and gives her a speech about evil. In fact, reviewing that part again, the option to kill him is blocked, and it's not specified how to unlock it, so I'm going to assume it's content from another update.
It makes sense that the God route is so tangled, and even more so when you add the rewrites. And it still seems to me that the route needs a good order, but that's my opinion, you'll see as an author how much you want to do and how much you want to branch out. As for the Patreon, for me it is controversial, but it already depends on those who support you. People are free to spend their money on what they want, and if they decided that your WIP was worth it, then that's their choice.

This is the only place for readers/players to vent their frustrations and talk ****, this isn't a place for reviews or constructive feedback, if you wanted that you would put on your socials that you're open to constructive criticism, but most of you don't, in fact you get vexed and offended if you so much as get a someone saying you missed a comma, you prefer to round yourself with "yes men" and act high and mighty and take anything that isn't adoration as a personal attack.
We don't have anywhere else to talk about things that left us disappointed, our frustrations with the community, and talk ****. If you're an author in readers/players space all you do is shut up not get defensive and trying to explain yourself, because then we lose yet another place to vent and talk our frustrations without getting ****ing attacked for having different opinions and people will get even more scared to voice their true opinions and feelings because at any point an author will come out needing to debate and defend their choices and then their fans come to defend their precious author and try to doxx people.
If you can't take criticism, cynicism of your creations then stay away from places that will have that and work on it, on separating yourself from your work and not taking every criticism as an personal attack.

Bruh, I have absolutely no idea what triggered you to make you respond so emotionally. I didn't even attack Kim or anything, I was literally just online looking for new Mod menus to download then saw his post here. Then I said, maybe I'll respond to let this guy know my plans to streamline the route he's talking about and why things are the way they are now. The guy I responded to didn't even take things the wrong way, and he gave his own opinions. **** was all civil then you show up and act like I started a war or something.

I just kept my mouth shut and did a rewrite cause I knew my writing was pretty *** back then. I've always welcomed all sorts of criticism openly, even on my blog. Hell, the only time anyone even heard me complain was cause some guy was harassing me, he wasn't talking about my work, or saying it was ****, he was just calling me a POS. Since you’re here ima tell you my problem with the story. I only am interested in GM until there’s lots of content on other routes. As you’ve seen everywhere, even on COG forums the problems we have is with Joy/Aurora nonsense. It’s the hypocrisy, let’s be honest Joy only cares because someone stronger showed up. So she can get Aurora? To try to stop the MC right? I’m pretty sure she couldn’t get her help to try to stop Adam? It also makes no sense because we just easily toyed with Adam, but for some reason she’s so adamant to stop us, but was so afraid of Adam??? What we did when we woke up should scare her more than Adam it’s just makes no sense imo. Also it’s ironic to me she’s pleading with my human emotion??? Isn’t anger human emotion? If you still have humanity etc???? Dude I clearly do angry about my sister? Idk sounds like excuses, she thought of a plan in hours to try to stop GM MC, but couldn’t think of one to get Ari back? Idc I call bs. I remember on tumblr you said you were surprised many people hated Joy. My problem is how everyone treats GM MC, they keep trying to tell them what to do or control us which imo makes no sense. Give me the option of killing Elvis and letting Joy live, telling her to let it go for the good of humanity. I’m petty like that tbh. I actually do like that GM has its on story and such great job on that, just the little inconsistency on some things in GM makes no sense.
You're right about Joy being a hypocrite, but I feel like her main problem has to be her obvious savior complex. She really believes she's the one to revive humanity, and it's always made her bitter that she didn't have the power in her hands to do it without having to rely on Elvis. To her Adam is a huge opportunity because he's someone other humans already agree is a threat. She's been planning for a long time to do what Adam did to Ari, to him, but more cruel. What she wants isn't to create a new personality, but to kill his consciousness, put a mental leash around his mind, and create a puppet that answers only to her. That way she can feel more secure with her own power, while at the same time garnering praise from everyone for solving the Adam problem. Also, Joy doesn't get Aurora's help to stop Adam. She instead tries to cover some of his crimes from her, because she knows that if Aurora get's involved, she'll never let Joy do something she considers incredibly inhumane to Adam's body. And she'll instead suggest imprisoning Adam and making him reflect on his actions.
Someone as powerful as GM mc appearing out of nowhere one day with a valid vendetta against Adam puts a wrench in all she's been planning for months. She's currently in a desperate state, and willing to do anything to stop you from destroying Adam's body. Joy called Elvis in after watching GM mc fight 2 consecutive fights that she felt should've drained them, the problem is that she hasn't been able to fully grasp what exactly GM mc is capable of, and she's still judging their strength and growth by God class standard.
These are the real reasons she keeps getting in your way and giving her talks about humanity.
Also, I could give you that option, but it might be pretty disappointing to you, cause as long as Joy finally recognizes your overwhelming abilities, and sees no other way to make it out alive from targeting you, she's willing to let go off Elvis even if you kill him, and she'll try to get on your good side after convincing herself Elvis dying instead of her was going to benefit their network and humanity in the long run.
As for the inconsistencies, I'm trying to get them sorted when I can. I feel the next time I focus solely on God mode I might be able to sort them.

Sure the guy is conflating you with other — let's just say, more sensitive — authors. But I think what they mean is for this thread specifically, it's better for IF authors to not engage and keep your peace since this is a thread where people vent about IFs, fans, and sometimes the authors themselves. Ain't exactly the place for you (plural) to come and try to defend or explain sh8t — such can be done on another thread, another platform, and trust that some of us do care to read and consider. It's not that you shouldn't be in the Cog of Mods community at all.
I tried to see your profile as you suggested, but couldn't exactly view it in detail, just that your current account is made in 2023, and you have about 6 messages including two on the thread of your own IF, so that's kinda unreliable information, though I do believe you have been ingrained in CoM for longer.
Anyway, to stay on the topic and spirit of this thread, Imma rant about an IF, I think this is more of a personal taste kinda problem but by god do I struggle to read Sai Quo's Paved in Ashes. There are many instances of repeated description in sentences of the same pharagraphs and it's driving me nuts. Authors tend to focus too much on trying to make sure they don't use the same words over and over but then forgot that they should also not repeat a sentence. Not to mention the many missing elements, the over-the-top costumization (nothing wrong with that, unless if it's not accompanied by a good amount of flavor texts, then what's the poiiintt???). Anyway Idk what it is but it makes my head ache everytime I try to read the IF without skimming.
