ok i could be wrong as i have read infamous and tumblr info properly long time ago but i remember mc checking up on seven after the voting, maybe multiple times, and seven internalizing what they felt. sure mc was naive to think anyone can be ok with such demotion but knowing how crazy and codependent these two were about each other in lovers route, if seven opened up about what they felt, i think the mc would have left the band along with seven (my mc would have, can't be sure about the default one). i do believe mc should have at least called out the voting and those "friends", it was very spineless behaviour. but i would like to give the benefit of the doubt because canon mc considered the band her family and knowing her biological family issues, i think it was a critical situation for the mc to be in but still it was spineless and passive. this is my personal opinion, i am glad seven internalized what they felt because i don't want mc making sacrifices like potentially leaving the band for such an immature *** (i said what i said) but yeah i don't like the band, i want her to leave the band for her sake. i don't want mc making life altering decisions for a partner internalizing issues, then exploding and saying the worst things possible (i could remember wrong about this tumblr info), ghosting for a significant time and finally, sleeping with their mutuals, which for me is the final and permanent nail in the coffin. seven breaking up with the mc is possibly the kindest thing they have done in this entire mess
Unfortunately, that's the most realistic part for me. A lot of adults still act like they're in High School and those behaviors don't change. Especially when you've been together since you're in HS and dynamics have gotten time to solidify.
To be honest, I hate this hardcoded people-pleaser personality aspect. The storyline would make just as much sense or even more with an MC who is ambitious and fame-driven and voted to demote Seven because a) they thought it was best for the band or b) they just wanted to be the lead singer. Not to mention, ambitious and fame-driven are literally already stats in the game! But no, apparently the band either didn't discuss demoting Seven at all in advance before deciding to do so on the spot, or they did discuss it but the MC somehow was the only one not aware of it. So the MC comes off as completely spineless on the one hand but also extremely stupid and ignorant.
The vote flashback was just disappointing and frankly poorly written in my opinion.
I might be in the wrong thread but this just goes to show that authors should write for themselves and not worry about not having ROs, having ROs, genderlocking, making the ROs playersexual or any of those other worries because people will never be satisfied no matter what

The best way to get representation is to write what you want to see yourself. No one else can do it as well as someone who has personal experience, and research can only go so far. There's also nothing wrong with having diversity in your work, however IF authors are catering to a very large audience. If they wanted to cater to *everybody* they'd probably have to have more than one person writing or working on the project

First, let me preface this by saying that I've enjoyed most of the games I've played, and this isn't a dig at anyone in particular. I know authors are trying their best, and they're not being inconsiderate on purpose. These are just general observations I've made.
I've noticed in recent years that more and more IFs give you the option to play as a trans character. This is a good thing, but playing those titles as a trans person makes me feel more like I'm playing a cis character with a pink, white, and blue coat of paint than an actual trans character. It feels like the trans option is an afterthought. At best, the game asks you for your character's gender identity at the start of the game, and then it never comes up again. At worst, it asks you during a *** scene by putting the emphasis on your character's genitals (which, on top of being inaccurate to how trans bodies work, can trigger gender dysphoria for some people, not helped by the fact that said *** scenes are the same for cis MCs and may use very gendered vocabulary). It's like our identity only matters when we get naked or something. It even feels dehumanising at times.
I'm not asking for entire routes dedicated to trans MCs, but a line here and there could make a world of difference. You don't have to add transphobia to your setting (I know most authors and readers baulk at the inclusion of bigotry), but even in an inclusive world, unless everyone is in some way genderqueer, a trans MC isn't going to have the same experience as a cis MC. Things like hormones, surgery, attention to clothing, passing, coming out, relating to other trans characters, the joy of meeting someone else who is like you or who accepts you for who you are, etc... All these things and more could help your character feel less like a cardboard cut-out with interchangeable pronouns, and more like an actual person.
And please, if you're going to have spice in your game, research how actual trans people write *** scenes, and what their preferences are, particularly in terms of acts and vocabulary. Because frankly, I'm getting tired of seeing my trans character turn into a cis woman every time the heat rises.
And if you're not ready or don't have the spoons to do research or add this kind of content to your game, it's okay. You don't even have to include the option to play as a trans character at all, especially if it's not going to be relevant to the story you're writing. I promise you the world isn't going to end if your game isn't 100% inclusive to every possible identity that has ever existed.

Wow there's been a lot of conversation around Infamous.
Well...according to Amy, in some runs, Seven is the one almost completely at fault. If you never voted them out the only reason Seven would have for disliking MC would be staying in the band. Seven views MC as the one who left them but it was Seven who left MC. Miscommunication has been a huge issue in Seven and MC's relationship (mostly on Seven) and that is why it ended. Seven is someone who assumes that someone will know how they should feel and be able to pick up on non-verbal queues. While I don't hate Seven (I DISLIKE THEM ATM), I could see why people would. I'm going to assume she'll finally have a chapter dedicated to MC finding out the band is both lying to MC and trying to control them but at this moment all you can do is disagree with them (notice how I didn't say argue, you don't have to be mean to the band for them to be mean to MC...hm) and they will act like MC is denying their existence. I have a feeling Amy is hiding something from readers for as to why MC would stay with the band even after finding out about the voting and after Seven left. There HAS to be a reason because my MC wouldn't have stayed without something keeping them there. While I understand Seven's feelings...I don't agree with how they acted on them
p.s. Seven isn't even my favorite, they're just so contentious in my mind that I have the most words for them. My favorites are actually Orion/a and Dakota. Seven has to act right to be anywhere close to them. Also, sadly I currently don't have that much attachment to any of the other characters.

So...the game originally only had one option (Where MC does vote them as backup). I actually prefer the added content but Amy needs to do better in writing it in imo. Seven is volatile, i actually like them a little bit better knowing that they act this way regardless of whether or not MC voted them out. It makes me feel even more justified in my current dislike for them and honestly...proves that no matter what Seven was the one who was the primary issue in the relationship.
Edit: Also find it both vindicating and hilarious that in Seven's POVs they are worried of what MC thinks of them and if MC still feels affection for them, lol. So...you did ALL THAT (not repeating what Seven has done and still does to MC over the years, I've addressed that in an earlier post of mine and other people have too) and expect them to have no resentment towards you???! But you're allowed to feel betrayed by MC? Oh and don't even get me started on how Amy once answered an ask and said that Seven has no remorse for how they treated MC during the fight at the party and after the breakup...

The POVs are at the end of chapter 2. There's Lu Tian, Xu Yufei and Qin Liwei.
I didn't get any bugs but honestly, I found chapter 3 kinda short (playing as female so no Xu Yufei date) and plus there was almost no Lu Tian
I don't know why she would hint at a relationship between them. She's made posts about how they are a great representation of friendship, but then goes out of her way to hint that they are soulmates to spite people who don't like the implications of a love triangle. It actually is infuriating but more so towards how she runs her account and her teasing rather than being any more upset with Seven over it. I also do not understand the many posts implying that Seven would be better with Avina than with MC, unless she's making light of her fans actual ships (gross ship imo and i don't get how people see it especially with how creepy Avina's POVs are) and pretending to agree with them. In actuality if Avina and Seven are more compatible with one another its because they're both toxic and want to train their friend/partner like dogs rather than MC being the problemIf you want to end up hating Seven search #savina on Amy's tumblr
(Not to mention that almost all the posts I've seen that support the ship seem to think that MC is a villain and that Seven and their band have done no wrong. Do they seriously not read between the lines? They just read and go 'Yeah. SV said MC was bad so therefore they are.' Even though, Seven has barely told them anything about MC and their band and Avina just makes up fanfiction in their head about MC. TBF the majority of people on the cog forums and tumblr are like this regardless of the ship so...)

i know this won't be possible, but if it were, after knowing seven slept with the mutuals on top of treating mc like sh*t and not regretting it, i would have made my mc find seven's absent father and sleep with him. i hate the concept of getting back at a romantic partner, i believe in breaking up. but once broken up, i do believe in being an absolute menace for an ex like seven, doing 10x worse than seven did. my mc would've put them through actual hell

What is Seven so worried about???! Seven already mistreated MC and has no remorse...what would have them this worried over how MC views them if they've already done such bad things to them? Or maybe Seven just cares that little for what they did at the party/breakup...? Anyway

That's the part I wasn't sure on. The baby theory was debunked. I still don't think it's likely that Seven would feel shameful for having a half sister. That scene you can overhear between Seven and Blake...idk. Maybe two things can be true? Seven could have a half-sister or a friend and doesn't want the TV show to know of her and Seven could be talking about someone else, something they're shameful of, when MC is eavesdropping. At this point it's left intentionally so vague on purpose. Though, apparently some anons have gotten extremely close but ofc she wouldn't ever post the ask or say they're true.

I once saw a post about Seven from an IF author defending Seven and asking what Seven ever did to be hated. She argued Seven never did anything and that it's all unjustified (and ofc there are similar posts about Avina...I don't need to say anymore. I already posted on here how I find Avina extremely disconcerting)This

Also, I personally do mind the Savina ship. A lot. I bet a lot of people will finally stop reading and supporting her story if it isn't just a joke for her blog (but is it really a joke when you're caught deleting some candid Tumblr and patreon comments where you outright say they're perfect for one another and much more?)
Back at it with a minor complaint. Just read Weeping Gods and I find it very unique but... why is the MC cursing so often?
I also found some instances where the narration felt way too modern with Captain MC saying something like "[the donkey] is chill like that" and it made me like??? Really took me out of it for a second.
Also on the characters, we are at chapter 5 right? I really wonder how the romances will develop seeing that it will only have 10 chapters, already halfway through and Quenna still hasn't really opened up. I suppose since the romance lock happened it will be faster?
But one thing that bugs me is the attitude around Narmer? Like, we just saw a scene where it looked like he beat his wife and the other characters/ro just rallied around him to "protect" him from this woman. The game shows that she ain't no saint but still...
