Kind of just a nitpick but I hate how people will add queer rep too the story but they're so scared of being offensive they just dont do anything with it like you're telling me everyone in a medieval setting is going to be accepting of a character being queer and going to ask me for my pronouns???

Those degenerates would be all over any writer who mentions anything like that, unless they simp for the said author. A few have managed to have that standing within the community, where they will have the loyal simp dog fans, so yeah, unless they are the ones writing that, don't expect anyone else to

One of the most hated characters in this thread is a really good example of this. The author cannot decide whether or not their character is flawed or perfect. Their best friend, too. How can your story, tumblr, side blog, and patreon all tell different things about your character? Own that they're flawed and complex and need therapy.

(I'm avoiding saying anything because this game has pages and pages of people complaining about it so I'm being vague. I'm not trying to have the same conversation occur)

Your step mom is cheating on your dad with his best friend (who could also be your boyfriend's dad) so your dad gets mad and strips him of his titles (orders him to be executed in some tellings). This gets ex-bestie unhappy so ends up going on a rampage and kills childhood bestie's (possibly your boyfriend as well) sibling which makes childhood bestie mad at him too so he declares war against him and everything just downhill from there.

Honestly needs two more bastards and a surprise pregnancy to be peak.

Yeah, they can't write ****. As you mentioned, Suevi author wants to write angst and trauma and whatnot, and then is like, well, it kinda sucks so we won't be doing that smh But honestly, it's the modern day mentality of wet wipes who are offended and triggered by anything and everything, so one can't really expect much from them. The things L told me on this subject, but I won't say much, without his explicit approval.

The IF community tries to make everything "cozy" and "inoffensive" it's weird I wish we had IFs where the MC and other characters were allowed to be bad people like i don't want to play as a spineless angel for the 100th time and I dont want every character to be super progressive but nooo if you make mean or bad characters that means you're mean and bad and you're going to get canceled on tumblr!!!

And yeeeeah. I honestly miss the good old era of like 2016, when people didn't have to worry about **** like that. It's a pain in the *** that that mentality exists really, and that games in general are suffering because of it. Not just IFs, but actual other games as well.

For the surprise pregnancy, I recommend either doing a poll, or throw a dart at the names on the wall, blindfolded of course, and whoever it lands on, that one gets pregnant, no matter who it is. I just finished beyond the mist and holy **** this was one of the worst ifs ive ever read so far. So, so disappointing how you're paying 21 dollars for ****. Which is so disappointing as well given how much I enjoyed TSSW. I hated MC's personality and how "weak" and a pushover they are. All choices lead to the same thing: boohoo sad me I live with my abusive parent as an adult and there's absolutely nothing I can do about that. You're like a full fledge adult bro, get a job and gtfo. Maybe it's just a me thing but I don't really see how horrendous their life is. Like yeah sure MC's mom is mean and manipulative but the way the ROs react, who btw are genuinely the only people you interact with (which is INSANE to me), you'd think MC's mother was satan reincarnated.
Everything doesn't make sense to me, why would I accept a plane ticket from someone I just met a few days ago? (girl they are going to traffick my ***???) Why insert this random lady being mean to us because we're friends with the RO, then proceed to almost drown her and send her off? When you add these small things to the story they're supposed to showcase something right? What can I conclude from that apart from the RO doesn't like people bullying what's theirs (DUH as if they haven't made it abundantly clear from the amount of times "greed", "possession", "desire" has been written to describe ANY interaction MC has with the ROs). I don't get the point of the story, the pacing is all over the place and the fact that MC does not question anything going on in their life rn is just so wild to me. They acknowledged that part too btw, but they just brushed past it and went back into trance dumb MC mode again. Genuinely such a disappointment, I never make posts like these at all but I was so astounded by the **** I just read I had to say something.
