Sorry, best we can do is another Greek mythology retelling next.Another Arthurian retelling IF just dropped an intro. Please drop more original stories I'm begging.
Out of all the stories is Greek Mythology it will only be the retelling of Hades and PersephoneSorry, best we can do is another Greek mythology retelling next.
And they always have to make it a romance that centers Hades. There are actual love stories in mythology and that isn't one of them, unless you count the bond between her and her mother which...that is not what they usually want to focus on.Out of all the stories is Greek Mythology it will only be the retelling of Hades and Persephone
I cried after Ariana dies and deleted the gameI agree with every point you made here. When I was done reading Sword of Rhivenia, I just felt disappointed. I was really hyped when it was published too. The demo was really fun, but the full book? It just feels like a prologue and the constant berating we got from every character is just infuriating. But I was still hopeful. It's only book one after all. But when the demo for book two came out, nothing changes. It's just the same thing as book one
. The stat check, how am I supposed to raise my combat skill when the story never provided me with the opportunity? What about my swordsmanship skill? Why can't it protect me from just one measly rebel? Why does it have to be combat? This story has ridiculous amount of skills but they never come in use. The peasants and everyone you know still talk **** on you. I feel like the author just brushes off the critics the players made.
As for Arcadie, the story flopped the second Ariana dies. I thought we as the MC can betray Ariana and joins the rebel, that would be fun. Instead she died and we're forced to become the ruler then it's all sword of Rhivenia all over again. It also felt unfinished, turns out there's a second book coming out. Didn't the author say it's a standalone book? What happened with that?
Ariana is the sister right? I hated that ***** lmao. She acts all superior and it got on my nerves. MC is forced to play second fiddle to her and if we wish to challenge her we get humiliated instead. In fact, i was elated the entire family was murdured and sucked dry of their blood. But cant really let that stand uk, nobody kills my family other than me. Becoming the ruler afterwards felt like we were thrown a bone. Like youll never be a better ruler than your sister but be one anyway cuz that ***** is dead. And the pity show by the two ROs and the "you dont understand, youre a child" attitude from the antagonist whos apparently not that much older than MC and is also a RO. Cant really stand stories which give this vibe.I cried after Ariana dies and deleted the game
...are warmongers that I felt zero pity for. #theantagonistdidnothingwrongthe entire family
Oh ****, I haven't realised we were talking about Arcadie. Daaaaaaamn, I'm so glad that I pirated that one, and haven't given a cent, because what in the actual **** is that game?...are warmongers that I felt zero pity for. #theantagonistdidnothingwrong
I'm not playing this just based on the fact that the entire premise of the game seems completely copied from the first and third Fable game. Like, even down to the sister getting magical powers, the parents dying. The MC being overshadowed, etc.Oh ****, I haven't realised we were talking about Arcadie. First you play as a classic trope of MC being a little *****, who is overshadowed by their sister who is the best thing to ever grace the planet, while you're basically a peasant in disguise. But that's only the beginning.
Your fam gets murked, which was aight, I get that, but the antagonist is like, even if they agree with you, or you with them, they're still like nah, you have to die because reasons. But then, your sister is graced by the Gods and has that power or whatever that was, I can't recall perfectly, it's been a long time since I played.
But then! She gets ****ing murked, even though I'm pretty sure I'd kill her myself, so now, by the grace of plot and pity, you are given powers to wipe out everyone and anyone, and yet, you only use them ****ing once, and it wasn't even intentional. Rather, it was just you being big mad or something.
Fast forward a little, we have those two ROs who are aight ig, though I find it fun how one of the ROs, the one that has money and connections, has to be there to save your *** in the world of politics with the retards of the kingdom, because it is not like you're the ****ing ruler with superpowers, and then! The antagonist shows up, and because he has blood of your parents on his armor, suddenly he's untouchable? But that's not even the bad part!
At the end, we need to pity him? I mean obviously we don't have to, since I recall killing him, but making him a RO, right. He's a RO who kills your whole ****ing family, and you're supposed to feel bad for him? To let him live? At least make the guy ****ing likeable, like God damn! He appears for one page at the beginning, and then at the end, and solely based on one "philosophical convo", someone is supposed to fall for him?
That's exactly why I never even bothered with the second book, since the first one was pretty *** imo
It’s been a while since I played Arcadie, but from what I remember, the sister already had magic from the start, it wasn’t something that appeared after the parents death, she was naturally gifted. The MC, on the other hand, was the overlooked sibling, always second best, even to the ROs. I’m pretty sure one of them was even implied to have a crush on her.I'm not playing this just based on the fact that the entire premise of the game seems completely copied from the first Fable game. Like, even down to the sister getting magical powers after the parents die.
Basically how in movies when they mention the entire world, they just mean USAThese cobbled up stories make it seem that all of Europe is the same and that is what makes it boring.
This tends to happen in large countries/territories where the majority of people all speak the same language. So Chinese and to a lesser extent Russian media do this.Basically how in movies when they mention the entire world, they just mean USAEverything, all the **** that ever happens, happens there
But it's the whole world, trust you guys!

Happens in Japanese and Korean media too though it's most obvious in Isekai stories where they bring Japanese/Korean food/products to the peasants of the new, vaguely European, world and are celebrated for their novel ideas. This tends to happen in large countries/territories where the majority of people all speak the same language. I had to stop reading Isekai and transmigration stories that take place in those vaguely European countries or worlds because of this and historical inaccuracies (and the genres tends to not be impressive anyway). It's sadly common in a lot of fantasy or historical stories disregarding language or origin and its why they're extremely boring and easy to write. I think it's from people assuming it's easy to write fantasy and for historical works people assuming they know about Europe because they watched a vaguely historical fantasy film once and that looked about right to them so they didn't do any research and didn't think they had to either. Currently research is minimal for most writers regardless of genre.Happens in Japanese and Korean media too though it's most obvious in Isekai stories where they bring Japanese/Korean food/products to the peasants of the new, vaguely European, world and are celebrated for their novel ideas.
I always thought it's quite a shame. There are so many regions in Europe with their own unique culture you could base something interesting on. But I guess for many stories the setting is just the means to an end, the backdrop to romance/power fantasy/whatever.those vaguely European countries
I think it wouldn't be easy to do that because just the character customisation along makes it inaccurate. What would a white man be doing in Wakanda? Fine, let's say he's settled there with his family; IF writers wouldn't mention how different the character would be from other characters based off their skin tones, which would help with immersion. They don't want to offend anyone so they just go with the mediaeval fantasy settings everyone is already used toI always thought it's quite a shame. At the same time I'd love to see more non-European fantasy.
