That's why there is a phrase: "Keep Writing Even if Nobody Reads."
Lol. Didn't this guy abandon most of his ifs and has taken at least 2 years to release more than 2 chapters? Obviously the engagement will go down if there is no hope of a story being finished. It's one of the reasons why people don't really invest time in them.
Most of the problems with the slow updates come with the bad planning and biting more than they can chew (not to mention the "every story MUST have ROs and be more sanboxy" or whatever expectation.).That's why there is a phrase: "Keep Writing Even if Nobody Reads."
I mean, instead of focusing on "why no one gives us engagement", why don't they focus on their IF... Pretty sure if they release new chapters steadily, they will get engagement boost again...
If they create something just for engagement, now I know why they are slow at updating their IF...
The update is also sometimes so slow, making others lose interest too... In my view, I also got tired if I interacting with IF who rarely update...
Sadly that's trueMost of the problems with the slow updates come with the bad planning and biting more than they can chew (not to mention the "every story MUST have ROs and be more sanboxy" or whatever expectation.).
^ I'd say this mindset is the problem tbh.Unfortunately, most of us authors thrive with aknowledgement. With praise and attention. I think, but this is just my personal opinion, that it's a fair bargain in exchange for the content we release into the world free of charge.
