Aura Clash: leaks, sneak peaks, memes and discussion thread.

Yes, until you reach Nanhou then you can solve it through the Lord Seals, Runic Seals, Weapon Primary & Mystic Seals...etc.
Of course I don't recommend to dump completely, there are some important checks related to Agility, so a 4~5 should be enough.
To give you a good base I usually left the chapter three with 10 Soul cores, 1 Agility Core and 5 in the Power and Fortitude Cores. So I can get an extra power core with the Sabertooth cloak, and more ~200 AP(2 Cores) with the chapter 4... and subsequently improving my build through the chapters.
So having a base 5 in Handseals and Storm Shugendo is the play then for an early game build like this, which I can definitely see myself achieving. A question though, do you even use Weighted Clothing in this build? From what I've been seeing so far, it doesn't seem like the bonuses are as significant as, say, Hungry Seal with Cycling and Gate Cycling. Not to mention that the bonuses seem sporadic and mostly present in fights, which already give some decent rewards upon victory anyways.

I never tried it before, but with a base 1 in agility, would wearing Weighted Clothing completely erase that 1 Agi core you have? My Kuro run so far had me investing in Agi more just to be safe.

Maybe. Did you pick the "Teach me commerce" option too? It did mention that what we get is a list of connections which are willing to do business in Nanhou so that might be how we get it.
I don't know even though I saved him and tried using the "teach me commerce" ,it didn't pop up again maybe it was a temporary glitc,h because usually it was only the merchant background that got to trade for the choral sect.

Yes, I use. The first weighted clothes we can buy has a base weight value of 5(If I'm not mistaken), so every fight you win you'll gain these extra +5 AP.
Also, there are others sources to increase this: Each point in athletics increase the gained AP by +2. Muscular Body type increases +1. Earth Element +1. Midorikatai Style +1 for every level of mastery...etc.
The Waverunner Armour has a base value of 9, just like the Lantern King Weighted Clothes.
There is no real harm in using the weighted clothes.

The point is that I don't focus in Athletics in the early game. I keep it a innate 1 until the Daichi fight where you can up it to a 2 Innate. And in Nanhou indeed I start to focus in Athletics(+2 Through Weapons factotum seals, +1 with auspicious seals. And if you want to spend some path manual in it, in Nanhou you can receive 3).
The points someone usually invest in athletics I use to up persuasion, after all, this is a cycling build, so you need money.

No, this 1 Agility I'm considering with the Weighted clothes already, so 2 Agility in total.
And well, I'm a Kuro player too, the point of Kuro is that the style already is focused in Agility by itself(Even so it helps a lot in Agility tests, especially in Nanhou).

So base 2 Agi at the very least by the end of Chapter 3 to make sure you at least get 1 Agi then with Weighted clothing. Got it.

Now I do wonder if you have to skip some events in the hub section of Chapter 3 to achieve all this, like Mina for example to get 2 more months for shards. I'd imagine you'd definitely have to if you're playing any other background aside from Merchant.

Edit: Another thing, since this play style requires a whole lot of cash for cycling, I'd assume you end up having to be very selective with the martial arts manuals you buy in shops.

Just make sure to buy eagle eye ,and have it equipped before you reach the dialogue option to gut punch Sakura in the dragon trial for your 8th trial point, since we can now get that eighth point regardless of character build💪.

Yes. Since we're Kurokonton players I don't buy two techniques in the chapter 4: Double-Chant(Literally useless since we're playing with a build that requires high Hand-seals) & Fanding Hand(Well, I believe you're like me and get at least 1~2 Thievery in the chapter 1 to steal the whole Thunderfall's storage in the chapter 2 & Get the +1 Thievery technique from Guiren).
Now Ax Breaker & Eagle Eye are Top-Tier techniques, you can buy. Also the two Elemental techniques, although they don't increase yours skills, each one gives +15 AP at a cost of 110 Shards each, which is more efficient than Cycling(With 10 Soul Core you gain 26 AP per cycling, and in the chapter 4 assuming you already have 1,000+ AP the cost can pass the 300 Shards).
Besides in this occasion, I really don't refrain myself from buying techniques at all.

Note: There are three moments I Cycle: Chapter 3, the most obvious. Chapter 4(+50~60 Shards in the end of Chapter three if you've the underling. +360 Shards from Dou Nohai. +500 Shards from the Old Woman by saving the villagers and having high compassion). And chapter 6(+100 Scamming Guiren in Ebikowa. +150 by taking the people's valuables in Ebikowa. +150 By winning the bet against Master Suon. And the Free-roam in Harehama overall).

Chapters 7 & 8 I let to save money so far usually I end with 10.000+ Shards(Not considering my Junk-fleet) by the end of chapter 8.

Alrighty then. Now I'm actually kinda eager to try this build type with other martial arts styles. Still Merchant tho.

And yeah, Stealth 2 and Thievery 1 at the very least are always my starting skills during the childhood section, complete with 2 in Handseals for free South Handseal for Thievery. Even if I'm not playing Kurokonton. Kosuke really be rubbing off on me.

I just came here to ask about this, doing gods work.
I saw it mentioned in an earlier post and just had to try it, though if I have criticism about the technique, it should rather be like the tanto events, where just by possessing it your character Intuits that they can use it. Techniques used for energy blocks and attacks, I can understand why that should be equipped but especially for sensory abilities it should be a passive effect similar to flash step or iron body, except unlike the those it is a purchasable technique that bolsters perception and power surge when equipped, with a passive effect for targeting.

I for one can say with certainty if I didn't see that post I would never have triggered that event. When you get to Nanhou, chances are before the dragon trial you have already visited the martial artists stands to buy their techniques effectively equipping yourself with a whole new build, and especially in case of eagle eye, which is a power technique, you would have switched it for one of the many either style/elemental offensive techniques that bolster either your ranged or close combat attacks.

So yeah do look up that persons post somewhere in this chat and give them a like because they are the one doing god's work. I am just the enthusiast that got told something new and wanted to both check it out and share

So, Moneky yokai has a secret scene with Moneky king if you pick bo staff. Is there any other yokai or races that require specific choices to unlock special scenes?

There isn't (as far as I remember) a complete scene, but the kitsune has several moments where people react differently depending on whether you're a kitsune.

Monkey yokai has more that that there is a scene when you train with one of the mentor and one where you train in mist chambers first.

Being human has a different scene after you fight goro's brother .

If you are mido artist who is a cat yokai tian comments on you being a filthy lying cat , she has different scene if you are a kitsune. There's many different small scenes/changes but the only big one is monkey yokai ones and few kitsune ones. ( Lunar goth also had a scene in dragon trial)
