Do we know why Mao doesn't just get a spirit roommate to get over his limits? As long as you don't slack off on soul cores it seems a net positive, they're not even that talkative (though that might just be our own) so it wouldn't be that intrusive to have. If you can't break it via enlightenment I don't see why you wouldn't try everything else. Maybe it's because he needs a much stronger spirit? But I think he could just cultivate a weaker one.

Then again, there could be even simpler ways to break your limit in the future. I doubt Jack and Leona have two voices in their head.

Absurdly rare to find one and high chance of getting taken over you have the mc buff lol if that wasn't enough the stronger and older you are the harder it is Mao would need 5 wind spirits instead of 1 to have a shot at breaking ml and it still might not happen.
There is no real way of breaking Ml as I previously talked about really it is the most luck based thing getting enlightened randomly or getting a spirit etc also something that worked for you doesn't mean it will work for me.

Maybe if the MC remembered all their past lives and had 6000 years of experience like Eldra then yes.

Not anytime soon, but that’s just my assumption. It seems to be a Harmony thing that Eldra has perfected over centuries if not millenia. Plus like @Diamondhead has said before she’s at like 19k+ Aura Pressure, and that took her 2-3 centuries to acquire while already remembering all her past lives and knowledge while being a JDF.

Okay. So I have a Soulstealing weapon, Endless Beating and Lifesteal, so I should be getting +15 AP per enemy defeated. But I'm only getting 7. Is anyone else getting this bug? Is it because of Mortal Limits?

If Leona somehow gets a spirit in her head, I would not be surprised if she manages to make the spirit sound like John Auraclash if you romanced her.

Life-Steal and Endless Beating are +5 each. But endless beating to be a Aura absorption technique you have to select it as a Power or Agility technique aligned, otherwise it will be a technique that you gain AP per wounds.

And yes, ML affect not only the Aura absorption but also the AP gained by Weighted clothes.

Wind Spirit, Shakengara, Lightbringer wonder what's next gonna be Sakura 2.0

I wonder if Shakengara/Spirits overall like the one we can get in chapter 6, can also get stronger with time in a Shugendo Pact. I imagine the Shugendo Pact must be different from e vessel Status, though the Shakengara apparently lives "within" us too in a Shugendo Pact.
Anyway I'll be saving the Shakengara/Wind-Bladed Spirit to gift Rin & Jin in their 18th birthday. Rin has Earth so Shakengara for her is a good play.
Also, considering the twins are ridiculously weak(~700 AP each), I wonder if the Wind Spirit/Shakengara would be enough to break their ML too,

Okay, gotcha. This makes more sense, I'm gaining 13 but ML is reducing it down to 7. It's just not showing the "Reduced by 50%" message for some reason.

So then Eldra's Foundation is still the best one on ML by heads and shoulders then. That kinda sucks. I thought getting a bunch of "AP when wounded" techniques would be able to get around ML by intentionally taking wounds - but guess not.

I wonder if you could make the Shakengara your animal companion through Kaito's training. Whatever beast you can get through him has to be better than the ones you can get via Midorikatai.

The highest AP Jin can get and that the game registers it (it gives him more cores in the stats screen, his peak being 4-Power, 4-Fortitude, 8-Agility and 4-Soul) is 1000AP, which is not that hard as long as you give him one of the two Memorywell Elixirs, some training and some elixirs.

I would guess Rin would be a little bit lower but not that much considering we can use her to scare some people in the trials.

Yes, by rewards Eldra's training is the best in any case being honest. If you're ML her training breaks it. If you're normal her Jade-Lotus gives +1 Point in all skills. If you're JDF +2 to each core and increased mastery to all your elements & Style.
The only reason to not train with her indeed is if you're corrupt, because you can't achieve harmony and, sincerely, without the Bloody Foundation you'll either die/be severely capped in your future Blood Chi training (Since Anon will add a punitive death scene for the ones who pass the corruption limit).

Non ironically it's a valid strategy in ML. Because the AP gained by wounds isn't halved in ML too, so, if create a build specialized on it(Monkey Yokai, Midorikatai & Fire element) you can still gain +12 AP for each wound.
In ML, basically: Alchemy(Advancement Elixirs) > AP Gained per wounds' techniques > Hand-seals(Cycling - Only Early Game)
In AP gain.

It is kind of peculiar that you expand your Inner Hellscape through drinking tea of all things, and yet not a peep from those two. They should be absolutely baffled that their technique got 'improved' just by you drinking special tea.

This is just mechanic-wise, my Jin also has 900+ AP and I even don't focus in the Twins training at all.
Narratively They're on the 700 range and probably will reach ~1,000 by the end of the book.
Remembering that past 800 their ML start to hit, so yes. Without our care they are quite cooked.

What most surprises me about that scene is that apparently there is such a thing as a Demonic Foundation. In my mind these Foundations were naturally occurring, or taught (like Thunderfall's, as I recall), but somehow, somewhere, someone developed one before becoming a Fiend and it caught on.

Yeah. And it has zero downsides unless you're doing a demonic run. I kinda wish it didn't break past ML, it's not like the requirements are super hard. It's already the best foundation for most builds even without it.

Or maybe like, all three let you gain AP that disregards ML. But only for specific types? Like Kaito lets you ignore ML for weighted clothing, Zhang lets you ignore ML for Cycling and Eldra's passive AP gain ignores ML?
