What does it take to trigger the experimentation? In my runs either the MC escapes the cave if he fails to convince her or ends up in a confirmed partnership if he does. The former you are enemies from that point forward because she chained you up and latter you are working together.

The experiment happens after the first stage of the tournament, but if I remember correctly, she actually asks you to do it when He Gang returns. You have to go ask her for advice about your cousins when He Gang says he killed them or something like that—I don’t remember exactly. It’s the scene where He Gang throws acid at you, I think, and you tell Mei Mei about Qi and all that. That event leads to the experiments later on.

As for the part you mentioned about the confirmed partnership relation, I’m guessing you didn’t confess your feelings to Mei? At least in my route I did, so I’m on her romantic route—or at least what seems to be it—not the business one, so I’m not sure if it’s the same.

"Up until immortality", Pretty much confirmed that though ruo will ascend at the same pace as the mc. he will not be able to ascend to godhood. That's a hard celling that ruo wont be able to break as that is the price of having a dao child physique.

I think Ruo can keep up with MC only in stages (except godhood for obvious reasons). Otherwise first part about MC have no competition will have no sense. (My daily dose of copium block other interpretation)

There's nothing inherently "good" About ruo. Just as there's nothing inherently "bad" About them either. But because the discord patreon supporters favors ruo so much and they're the ones who niki seems to listens to, then you can pretty much expect that the current state of ruo's character to presist. Which is a shame really. Ruo could have been an actually interesting character with some rewritting and adjustments. but the discord patreons just kept on glazing ruo's character as they exist now. And ruo's character development has been stunted as a result. I can only hope that during the break niki actually see just how uninteresting and how badly written ruo is and make plans for improvements.

No, because as someone who’s played since day 1, Niki has loved Ruo since the beginning. He’s the one who started Ruo real MC jokes, before the discord users started to influence him:. He’s always loved Ruo.

I think it did start of as a joke, but then people start to take the joke seriously and then those people joined patreon. And now those people are the ones niki listens to.

NS is not immortal right? You need to still pass stages to attain immortality? I'm not really a fan of Ruo keeping up with MC even after the end of the story. Id expect MC to have surpassed all his peers by the final third of the story. Imagine edging your readers for years only to leave them blue balled. It's hard enough that nobody gives a **** about MC now, I don't want to see that till the end of the story.

Niki needs to do a lot better to narratively explain why Ruo can keep up with MC instead of just saying "cuz Heavens, duhhhh". Tbh even MC is not facing enough backlash from the heavens despite them hating our physique.

How... Just how. MC has a perfect body, a transcendent DAO seed and a one in a trillion physique, and yet somehow some way Ruo who with all her overwhelming resources compared to current MC is only able to keep up with us. How can she possibly be our equal in the outside world where all we need to do is breathe to grow stronger than 99% of people, plus Ruo wouldn't even have the resources advantage.

This seat is tired of the heavens favouritism.

In other words, the author just confirmed that Ruo won’t die. Lady Butterfly’s plan to damage Ruo’s cultivation fails, or some crap happens where that ends up being the push he needs for his body to be rebuilt into a cultivator or something like that. Honestly, I don’t even care about that supposed ‘rivalry’ the author is clearly trying to force — I don’t even know why. Honestly, the story would be the same for me even if Ruo wasn’t in it, because that rivalry is nonexistent to me.

I guess it was obvious Ruo wouldn’t die since he’s the favorite, but that makes the whole 1v2 with Caihong and the MC against Ruo and all that stuff pointless in that case.

To be fair he's not writing anything after MC reaches Nascent soul. Ruo can still die in some routes at the end of the game, it's just that in the ones where she survives...sh-she'll keep up with MC somehow.

I’ll believe that Ruo can actually die in some endings when it really happens. For now, it wouldn’t surprise me if he always survives for one reason or another.
