the Wroth Ode was so interesting, i'm genuenly devastated that it hasn't updated in so long.....
I haven't played choices in years but I didn't know they'd been sold to an ai company, although I shouldn't be surprised atp

They've been sold for quite a while now. All their recent stuff is purely ai. The app went on an insane decline so quickly after the old owners were bought out.
I believe that as that is what happened to the love island game essentially, although without being brought out - they laid off all their writers part way through creating a season and has pretty much been using ai since.
I think the last time I touched choices was 2021/2022ish, but I couldn't get a modded apk to work for gems or whatever it was anymore so gave up because I'm poor but also won't play without the paid options, and then I found IF. I just looked it up and they were acquired in 2024 so a few years after I stopped playing.
The obvious AI slop? They made a whole big thing about how they got fired by the AI company that brought them (some left as solidarity) just to make the exact same slop. They were lying and saying it wasn't AI in the beginning too.
Ride or Die and Distant Shores. I loved Ride or Die, kinda wished there was an option to go all in on the criminal thing instead of being forced to go to collage but I get why they ended it the way they did.
Yep, they've actually begun to turn books into those shitty AI slop videos.

I never understood the whole Rin thing. Takashi keeps pushing it, but I never really felt Rin was anything but friendworthy. Personally, I'd give both kidneys if the author returns and for an Ash & Skylar v-poly.

Santana is also cool, in my opinion. But Skylar? I mean, she's cool too, but if I had to pick, I'm going with Rin, simply because Skylar is a superhero, and won't really be with a crime lord mc (if my memory serves me right), but Rin, despite how pushed she is onto mc due to "arranged things", I mean, I like her scenes and how she is with mc.
