When I saw this, my first thought was "well, at least that one is easy to cover up". The supidity of tattoing any fictional characters or media references on ones' person aside (because, duh, tastes change), if they were THAT into it, they could've at least waited until the game is finished? Like... what if your beloved as of chapter 3 out of 15 character becomes beloathed by ch 6? What if the game never gets finished like so many IFs and indies? Zero foresight.

Also idk about Amy, but I would've been very weirded out by seeing this tattoo stint.

Jesus ****ing christ maybe im overreacting because in my country tattoos are frownen upon (even being considered a sin) but this gotta be a bit excessive from whatever country you're in no?

How do you even go and explain this to people? "Yeah my tattoo is a reference to some words of an unfinished game that is most likely not going to be fully released"

It's none of my business but i didn't know infamous was this popular 😭 unfortunately it'll most likely get lasered off cause i cant imagine someone seriously keeping that

Also, for being a side character that's not even an RO and is only there to be cucked by Dame and MC, why does he gets more asks answered than Ares??? Take a look at this. Seriously.

Who is Johnny, and why do I have a feeling he's the author's self-insert lmaoo??? Also, when I was talking about the A Tale of Heroes author's 'OC,' I used the wrong term, it's his self-insert.

Hell the only 'power fantasy' (whatever that even means when authors mention that. I'll assume it's a IF where you're OP) that I can think of are Broken Fable, Witch King, Demon Recollect, and Demon Fireforged. I also like games where you're pretty OP compared to others but still face challenges (like Aura Clash and POMA). It's a good balance for me, but I'd like at least a new IF where you're THEM. The most OP of the verse like Yujiro, Gojo, and few can match you.
 
Those 'power fantasy' IFs, like @God mentioned, are barely alive and there are very few of them. Most IFs nowadays are focused on drama, angst, or worse... mystery. The mystery genre is extremely overused at this point. Every time I open a promising looking IF in joy then check the synopsis and see anything related to mystery, I feel the exact opposite of joy. The only mystery IFs I actually like is the Sherlock Holmes one, and maybe Wayhaven, but only the first book. I don't mind the drama books much but the mystery ones gotta go. And I feel like when a book adds a subgenre, it often loses track of the main genre. A good balance is College Tennis Origin Story, it's mainly sports-focused but mixes in slice-of-life and drama without losing its core.

100% American I can already tell, some people here get the most dumbest tattoos so there’s no need to explain it to be honest. I’ve seen so many people get dumb tattoos as teenagers and then laser remove them when they mature.

And they put the reader in a shitty role (well, maybe apart from Press. It's relatively nice to read... so far). But I stopped following her blog and blocked it a long time ago . Her replies were so rude sometimes. It's like.... she could have replied more politely (because the ask wasn't from aggressive hater or anything) but for some reason she just had to reply like b**** . An unpleasant feeling and it doesn't improve your mood when you see that kind of answers on your dashboard.
 
Someone dropped the Llama Girl BoC patreon content here recently, and against better judgment I read the side stories. Boy oh boy do they ignite my resentment for every single character in that story that isn't Morgana or Accolon.

Also, a little bit heavy, but was what happened to Arthur really count as r8pe? From my understanding he sought comfort with Morgana, they had s3x, then he regrets it when he found out she's his half-sister.

Nowhere in the story does it shown that Arthur was forced or coerced or unwilling to bed Morgana (as far as I get it). It's s3x under false pretenses, but no way is it on par with r8pe imo. And no f8cking way is Morgana even as bad as Uther was — only half as bad.

Morgana's motif is understandable. Eye for and eye and all that bloody jazz. Camelot really deserves to burn, this is a hill I will gladly die on.

P. S. : Why the hell is Galahad the Prick an RO???

I was the opposite... I hated Morgana's bs. Her motives are understandable, but let Mordred make their own choices and judgement ffs. They are their own person, not someone for you to use as a sledgehammer.

YMMV, I guess. But at the very least, she did deceive him. And no way she didn't know that the child would be hated, but she still groomed them as a weapon of revenge instead of at least giving them an option of living out a quiet life in some a$$ end of nowhere (and then decide if they want to pursue revenge or not).

(and if seriously, it's once again about "mom look I fixed him!!!", and tbf there's still plenty of time for him to get better and apologize...)

The biggest thing that I dislike about BoC is that the childhood arc just doesn't seem to. Ever. End.

To be fair, she did say she love Mordred no matter what didn't she? Just that she'll be happier if her son is with her on the fun vengeance ride. I think she'll still love Mordred if the kid abandoned revenge to live in the a55 end of nowhere away from all the dramas. She'll still commence Camelot's destruction though (will probably fail tragically but points for dedication and efforts, woman is determined to pay for Pendragon's crimes and I'm all for it)

It's dragging for too long and has become tedious to read, especially when we're presented again and again with utter spite from majority of the cast! These people really wants Mordred to be the villain so badly huh? Aight, I'll happily oblige. They (from nobles to servants, to even the peasants in BoC) judge a wee kid so f8cking harshly even when the kid has been nothing but kind. They should burn to coals.

I like prickly ROs who either warm up to you or don’t, so I’m glad Galahad is an option. It all comes down to personal taste. As for Morgana, yes, I do consider it sexual assault if you lie to someone to get them to sleep with you, especially when you’re literally related and keep that information from them. That’s not real consent in my opinion. I can’t stand Morgana. I hate that she deliberately brought an innocent child into the world knowing they would be hated and ostracized. I’m not against her seeking revenge, but I’ll never agree with weaponizing a child.
 
Yeah, I consider what Morgana did assault at the very least but I can understand it being treated as R*pe. It was consent under false pretenses. They had s*x and he regretted it is a poor way of understanding what happened. It was more they slept together and he found out that the lady who he had s*x with was not only his half-sister but intentionally misled him about her identity so she could have an incestuous bastard to challenge your throne over what your father did. That is traumatic and screws with you. I can't blame Arthur for his reaction to it and listening to Merlin (Morgana had already proven that she shouldn't be trusted on any grounds) but I also believe and it is shown that he's just too trusting of the people he thinks are his allies. He doesn't quite think that Merlin or Lancelot could have ulterior motives or that they could be using him even if they do care about him. Not claiming Mordred and taking them from Morgana's care was not the right call in that situation, especially knowing the kind of person Morgana was and still is and learning so the hard way. He's a good person but he's also a **** poor player of the Game of Thrones.
Wonder how closely Llama intends to follow the whole affair thing because it's already pretty much foreshadowed that Lancelot sees himself as the true King and not Arthur, and that whole affair thing was what led to Camelot's fall in the original telling to begin with. Mordred was less the cause and more an opportunist who saw chaos as a ladder.

I also don't think Morgana really loves Mordred at least not in a twisted way especially one that doesn't want revenge. She's the opposite to Arthur, she's too distrustful of everyone and the slightest objection to her ideals of 'revenge' becomes another betrayal in her head because she's cry bully and victim complex's poster child along with a hefty load of PTSD from Uther. She genuinely believes that the suffering Mordred goes through would make them want revenge because that's what she went through but she can't imagine seeing the silver lining and putting the happy moments and those you care about being worth more than the suffering or that she herself is the source of all the problems not everybody else. Even if she recognizes that she's as much the abuser as she was abused, she can't turn back now since she's already burnt almost every bridge she has.

I love BoC's writing. The characters are actually pretty well fleshed out in story and not hidden behind multiple patreon side stories. The foreshadowing is pretty good too.
 
Since there are no new IFs for me to read so far, is Bastard of Camelot worth reading? I like Arthurian tales but seeing it being discussed in 'Stories That Left You Disappointed for a Reason' is making me reconsider...

I'd say it's well-written, but also it's been stuck on the childhood arc for, like, forever, and afaik the author has wrist problems or smth which means it'll likely be slow going.

You should judge it by your own, I think. Come here if you have something to complain about the IF, that's what we do here. You've seen a glimpse of what's in it.

Personally, this IF is frustrating to read. The cast is... bland and the story is packed with an immersion breaking amount of — gotta find the words in English — modernism, I guess? And they make Arthur a soppy c8nt who couldn't stand straight without Merlin's geriatric *** backing him up.

Morgana may be vindictive but there's truth to what she said. Merlin's sus as hell, the type that be pulling the strings behind the curtains, but maybe that's just me.

So to recap, Morgana's entire family was wiped by Uther, the man forcefully wed his mother and bore Arthur. Then she was sold off to some jackass of a noble, forced to have child with said noble while a traitor took over her home. Plotted to have a revenge child (that is the MC) when she found out Arthur was Uther's secret son, fled when Arthur doesn't want to acknowledge MC.

She has every f8cking reason to hate the entirity of Camelot. For some reason people just brush off her entire lore because what? She can stand for herself and fight back to the people that wronged her? Using her child is not ideal but MC is, ultimately, the heir to the throne. Her only chance to make it right.
