It really gets me how it becomes less and less cohesive with each rewrite, too. Like, man, flashbacks are fine, but now it's just the mishmash of scenes the author included to flesh out the MC's stats. The idea for the game is so good, but the pacing is all over the place.
...also I read it and remembered just how much the random child character rubbed me wrong. I *hate* when games force you to adopt random child/pet without giving you any motivation. Like, what if my Death is cruel or indifferent? Or if they hate to interfere in mortals' affairs? Noooo, you cannot leave this random kid to their fate or give them a small blessing and send them away.
Speaking of kids, didn't the author say that for Sol-mancers there would be an option to have had a kid with Sol? You gonna tell me that Death would remember a random kid, their traitor sister, the drama sea god, but not their own child?
