It's not even about children; I think the author just doesn't understand trauma. It's treated as a drama generator to be turned on when convenient, then turned off to goHave the author even met children?

but you don't understand! Precious Fadiya had nothing to do with your family getting slaughtered! /s Except, she is besties with the son of a man who did it and her mother is in his employ, but who cares, amirite? Look, she has a frog! (which you cannot even call gross if you don't like frogsaround Fadiya.
I actually like WWCwith we wretched creatures
Honestly, same.I may not like some of the stuff in the game, but at least the narration logic sort of logics to me
I think it's a writer X reader view kind of thing, besides the supernatural thing the Mc is clearly mentally unwell, but I think the author is clearly biased towards a "Mc is evil actually" playtru which shows both in game and her Tumblr, I don't think you need to excuse a protagonists actions or have them be perfect, but it's hard to pin down goodx bad, moral x immoral when someone lacks agency as much as this Mc, one exemplo is the James thing, that if you are moral Crowny blocks what they did if not it was them, but the clues Crowny is manipulating the truth / has awful memory fell meh to me (as in the birthday cake and the box with whatever they have hidden) as with all twine wips it feel like the author has a set route they wanted to follow (immoral Crowny batshit killer route).I actually like WWCMC really fits the bill of being a wretched little creature, just like it says on the tin. Amusingly enough, I think this one suffers a bit from not having enough 'nice' options because oftentimes all options lead to MC turning out to be creepy\evil\pathetic... But tbf WWC MC had like zero chances to grow up normal and stable. Maybe some more aggressive options would be nice, but oh well... I may not like some of the stuff in the game, but at least the narration logic sort of logics to me, which I cannot say about CoAF.
Yeah, these are the parts where I feel there is a lack of nicer options. I even asked her on tumblr why, if it is an unreliable narrator moment, it's not marked for reader as meta text, and her answer basically boiled down to 'well MC knows they are lying'. But, hey, I don't, so why not give a heads up??but the clues Crowny is manipulating the truth / has awful memory fell meh to me (as in the birthday cake and the box with whatever they have hidden) as with all twine wips it feel like the author has a set route they wanted to follow (immoral Crowny batshit killer route).
Is a amoral Crowny an option now? I remember it being a maybe, so far I thought it was still moral and immoralYeah, these are the parts where I feel there is a lack of nicer options. I just came to the conclusion that immoral Crowny is the Crowny that never tried to be good and all the stuff around them dragged them under even deeper, and a moral Crowny tries to be good but they are still a product of toxic environment, supernatural stuff and untreated mental issues, so they are not really equipped to react to a lot of things morally. Like a child who grew up in a toxic family may know that you are supposed to treat people with kindness but still exhibit some pretty gnarly behaviours towards friends and people they genuinely care about. I think better take on 'moral' Crowny would've been Crowny trying to unlearn what has become their nature and sometimes slipping catastrophically, and not them just forgetting things. I can understand blocking off traumatic childhood stuff, but an event that happened literally a couple days ago? (the jock thing) Eh.
I am playing an amoral MC, mixing both low and high morality, and it's going pretty ok, but I cannot imagine trying to go full-on good in this game.
But don't they deserve happiness?? The King who wife was killed so then going a anger fuelled revenge plan and kill the MC whole family including the children , then take that child from their country and everything they know and love. Forces them into a child marriage, forces them to live in a country and castle where no one like them and pretty much hates their guts. For them to get close to someone who could be a father figure to find out sike! The king is sleeping with them. Why shouldn't he deserve another chance? The king who killed your family and married a child lol, I think he's the most selfish character in the story he wants to have a relationship with the Mc and also bang their husband/abuser/killer on the side, not only that, but the fact the relationship is a sign the king is healing and moving on while the Mc.... It sounds like misery **** to me (along with we wretched creatures)
And for some reason it seems nobody in their country cares lol What did the royal family do to themthen take that child from their country
I think it's mentioned (on Tumblr lol) that mcs family was pretty frivolous and poor rulersAnd for some reason it seems nobody in their country cares lol What did the royal family do to them
Got it. Well would have been nice to have this ingame(on Tumblr lol)
Iirc the author said that if you stay in the middle but have some points in both, the game will consider you amoral. But what I meant is that from roleplaying perspective there's no conflict when you pick both and reason that your MC just doesn't have a moral compass (good or bad), period. Meanwhile, picking only moral options is sometimes jarring because the game needs to hoist some nefarious deed at you forIs a amoral Crowny an option now? It’s something I noticed on Reddit and discord when I frequented there. Some IFs fan bases has a crossover with Crusader Kings fans so you’ll get some readers like this every now and then. I remember seeing it with KaE readers. Most of it is “memes and jokes”, but some of them go overboard. You’ll mostly find them in Royalty/Medieval IFs with the keep it in the family/pure bloodline “jokes” that are brought up so often it gets weird and makes you raise an eye. What's with ITFO reader being an incest enjoyer? Legit cannot find the reason.
Like first that weird ahh fanfiction of Marshal and Elya, now this?
