Stories that left you disappointed for a reason

i don't have many thoughts on BOC, i just think it will never be finished so i don't bother with it. but i am surprised the same people who hate the game being too cute and nice also hate the dragon f*cking. i think it's the most hardcore medieval part of it and should be celebrated. more ifs should take wild swings imo
The dragon f-ing adds nothing to the plot but it does add to my amusement, still wasn't worth rewriting chapter 3 to add more content when chapter 3 is already bloated. Besides, if I truly hated BOC's current story I'd drop by now. I complain because I love it and hate watching it's potential being squandered because Llama is stuck in pre-teen hood and very clearly doesn't have a proper outline/isn't sticking to her outline if she has one.

I myself am very sensitive and very triggered by the object in question
I myself am very triggered by the lack of object in question, so I ask you to stop with the anti-*** propaganda. My mental health demands that everyone be wearing a *** around me at all times, is it so difficult to be respectful?
I also ask that women refrain from utilizing such pieces when I'm in the vicinity
Are you seriously implying only women wear it??? lmaoo

/s
(but really, why tf is it censored???)

I am highly repulsed by both of these comments, since I literally burst into flames if I even get a slight sense of the b-word being anywhere in my electromagnetic field, or hell, even in my thoughts. As a matter of fact, I'm starting to catch flames right now! /s

So I recently finished a short vn called 'Myosotis: My life is not yours to take' and while I know this was made for a Game Jam/ and its Free, I cant seem to look pass issues I have with the plot and the endings.

Spoilers ahead:

-First is how did no one at the collage notice that Jude stole Ethan's identity? Jude had to of have enrolled in the Uni as Jude because of the existence of the Jude student ID card and that the real Ethan was also enrolled in that same collage

-I understand that Jude was envious of Ethan and that's why he killed him and took his Identity but why did he start dating Ethan's crush (MC) when it seems like he never really seemed to like them in that way

-The fact that no one has found the MC's body despite Jude hiding MCs body in a locker at their place of work, yet apparently when it was searched no one found it (or the bag with Jude and Ethan's IDs in it) like would've the body start to smell with it decomposing?

-I also don't understand the way MC and Ethan handled there investigation, like when it came to Jude's stalker they both just brush it off when they saw them and that MC didn't immediately check the morgue when they gained the ability to go anywhere without being stuck to Jude (Ethan it was understandable, he couldn't remember)

-Also maybe this is me interpreting this wrong but in the good ending where Ethan says his one regret was him never being able to ask the MC out- When has Ethan even met us? He doesn't work at the morgue and We haven't seen him at the campus (I don't think its even stated the MC is even enrolled at that Uni/tho I could be wrong on this one)

-The romance between Ethan and the MC in the good ending kinda came out of nowhere to me personally and generally I feel like the build up for the endings was rushed but again this is was made for a game jam. I feel like this would of been better if we got to play as Ethan and cut MC out since it doesn't really feel like they matter much in the story.

The fact that there was nothing about mc's body making me itch every time I remember this vn. Just a few words would've been enough.
Other stuff I can get past but this, ugh. At least it's free.
Overall, I think it was kind of implied that Ethan kinda was supposed to ask mc out, but he gets killed and that guy asked mc instead as a part of identity theft. And they were at the same uni. Jude "stalker" mc's friend, but it's also wasn't acknowledged much, which is really disappointing.

Yeah That's the part that bothered me the most out of all and while obviously finding Ethan's body is important it kinda feels like we neglect ourselves at the end.
( actually where is the key to the locker with our body in, we could unlocked it and left it on full display like with Ethan's body in the woods)

Tbh I feel like the author from BoS tried to walk some kind of line, but failed terribly.

Classic is way too tame to be interesting. Dark maiden went too heavly on the unnecessary language barrier and lack of consent to be anywhere in the vicinity of enjoyable.
Lmao even if Classic is fine, it aint real fun when you KNOW those 2 guys would r*pe your MC if given the chance. Jesus christ, when you actually read the translations of what the guys are saying in DM, its ****ing disgusting. I read Dark romance but this aint it 😂 like, is the author just expecting us to just forget all the **** they said and did? 😭🤚 If there's not a damn redemption arc or some accountability going on soon I'm droping this.
Deff one of my biggest dissapointments in a while...

...know what, I don't wanna know what they're saying in DM anymore. My opinion of them already disintegrated into dust.
Meanwhile the narration is like "you feel cherished!!!", while MC is wondering if they'll drop her after getting bored with her. Sorry, narrator, you ain't fooling me. This is no romance.

They probably will and them get another virgin young woman

Agreed. I really liked the idea of the game in the beginning, but then the author started changing the story around for different versions and on top of that we learned more about the LI's and they're just such a let down. The blonde is rude and annoying--like a knock-off teenage Gojo, and the dark-haired dude is a cringy edge lord who acts like a cliche alpha. Not to mention that the MC basically acts like this is her first day on earth and gives off less "lost maiden" vibes and more "newborn child" energy where she has absolutely no autonomy and feels unsafe, and even if you play her as "sassy" or "strict" she will always bare her neck and look submissively at their arms or think sonnets about their eyes and hair.

You can make a toxic romance hot (in fiction) but it all goes out the window when the protagonist whose mind your stuck inside of acts like she's seven-years-old and the guys are old as dust and see her as an object to pump and dump.

Honestly, I just wish she could leave with the dog-man-thing and ditch those two to their own drama, because MC is always gonna be a third-wheel.

"newborn child" energy
Yeah, and they are taking advantage of that to press MC into having s e x with them, knowing she's amnesiac and dependent on them for survival.
like wtf 🤣 locria at least labels her stuff as erotic horror, and openly describes her ROs as horrible people. BoS feels like the author doesn't understand what her writing shows vs what it tells.
I'm not sure the game will handle pregnancy/children well.

I randomly remembered this detail...Does anyone remember that one account who defended authors and patreon, not that I disagree with them, around the time the author found out their game was on here? With how rude they are and how they speak I definitely think that was them or another author defending them. Especially with that username. It also doesn't help that it seems the account was made just to defend them and then leave. Another author where following them is such a hard task and I'm debating just following them on other platforms instead since they can't possibly be rude to their patrons or future customers.

Yeah, it just felt like some Tumblr kiddo who came here to pick a fight and ride a high horse.

The defensiveness and the username are what led me to believe this. If the username wasn't aggressive, like the author when they're upset, then I wouldn't have ever thought it was the author, friend of theirs and or another author. People in this thread have assumed accounts are authors for way less. Another hint for me is that iirc the defender also assumes a lot of other peoples finances just like the author. It comes from a place of privilege where in the authors words, it's only $5. Different currencies exist and not everyone is able to freely spend $5. Regardless of whether or not these people want to pay for their patreon, many of them cannot. It could just be a fan who spewed the same talking points in defense of them and promptly left but it's not a big deal. Just posting something I thought about.

TBH it would explain why they got so defensive when I said that money shouldn't be your only motivation when it comes to writing.
