its lame. i buy the stuff that is very good when it's not in "beta" (for 'real' games in the past and some of these book games) and i've bought a couple things on Patron but it is 4x the $US price it states. some people cant afford that so its not a loss of sales. its a gain in viewership. i know some devs who will leak their work to gain more eyes. because more eyes = more interest. and if its good they might buy it. i think some of these people are not secure because of the quality of their work.

At one point, streaming beat piracy, and it's now more back than ever, and we know why.
Facts, and it's not even just that, but also the fact that paying for patreon is not getting anything in return. You're continuously paying for a product that you don't own, and the moment that you don't pay, you lose access to it, meaning that, apparently, the side stories and all the "exclusive patreon bs" is estimated at over 100$ easy. Imagine paying that amount of money for a ****ing access to some bs that is not even worth 5 bucks. It's insane.
And it's even better when they lock their ****ing thoughts and sneak peaks behind a paywall. That's literally worthless, and yet, they are parading it like it's some exclusive bs that anyone can get, if they just know what discord to enter. ****ing ridiculous

I am brazilian, and my country has one of the highest rate of piracy, mainly because dollar and taxes make games or other paid media very expensive and unecessible to people in general. One indie dev guy made his game in a acessible price here and brazil become one of the countries that most bought his game. Mid IF authors really think that if a person has the money to spend they will be here begging for their patreon contents? It is ****ing hilarious

The current public demo is 1.3, I think they released it first with the wrong version number. The current patreon one is 1.25 from March, no updates as for now, they will update after getting days 6 and 7 of the common route and 1-2 days of Atlas' route ready.
