Nothing is worse than putting up with Jin and Rin's anticsAlso Demonic path is just a worse off path the longer you are on
Demonic MCs are gonna be fine

Hmm, I really should check the options better once I get junk ships, because I didn't know they could hunt beasts. Or does it occur in deep sea fishing?I just send 5 to salvage and send the rest to hunt beasts for potential treasures.
Hunting is dangerous for non combat/junk ships by the way.
I will never again doubt the GOAT Shakengara. I feel ashamed for even having considered the possibility.
Corrupt JDF can't exist, probably they already explained here. Based on discord corrupt JDF will receive some punishment soon considering its direct connection with the Heavens, which is too the source of its power. If not corrupt will just make JDF weaker at long term.I think Demonic Cultivator MC should be able to rival JDF MC in the long run. Obviously not currently since we're only starting to dabble in actual demonic cultivation while JDF has innate advantage just from their very nature.
They should be a mirror of each other, one blessed since birth with power while the other is so obsessed with power that they're willing to do heinous things to get it.
Concurrently, Demonic Cultivator JDF MC should be THE most powerful version of MC, since it's no longer the dichotomy of 'talent' and 'effort', but both hand-in-hand.
Death Lady please. Can't go wrong with more goth cultivatorsDeath-Lord
Kaitos training is the best for mortal limits MCsIf that was the intention, why even bother with the rest period of doing nothing in the first place - why not just have her instantly heal us?
Having us do nothing shows us nothing about how powerful the JDF is because literally nothing about it is described or elaborated on about the process. It still takes the same rest period as the others.
Yeah? That's been my argument from the very beginning. What do you think I was talking about?
But even then, I brought up other options that would make the free time more interesting - like having John/Jane Auraclash realize that they need to actually appreciate their family more because they're the only people who actually cared about them before they became powerful (which would be a nice segway into the clan management stuff next chapter anyway). Eldra brought up that stuff but only as a joke - and I think it would have been more interesting to explore that stuff more seriously.
Someone earlier talked about the MC having to maintain "perfect harmony" during mundane everyday activities and I really liked that idea.
You could basically ignore the Eldra training scenes and nothing would be missed in the story. I haven't done a JDF playthrough yet but it seems her interactions there are a little more substantive? But even so, that changes nothing about my criticism because JDF isn't the default version of the story.
Okay - let's put this another way. Is there anyone who would dislike Eldra's option or find it less attractive if the free time spent interacting with other NPCs was instead replaced with training more in line with the other two mentors? Keeping the JDF content intact of course. If you do, could you explain why?
This too. If you're doing Mortal Limits, she's basically the only correct choice.
Kaito hands down yeah. Flayed God is kinda eh - things could totally change in the future, but I rarely find myself getting wounded in the first place even on Mortal Limits and the game sometimes penalizes you for getting wounded as well. But his training segments were the most fun for me.
Eldra's training straight up breaks your limit though, pretty sure that's what he meant. And Kaito's -2 to all cores would suck so bad especially with increased difficulty lol.Kaitos training is the best for mortal limits MCs
You guys are so horny smhSun hana tells me these guys do olympic level dual cultivation
Yeah but ML means you're going to have a lower AP and are more likely to fail checks which means it works well with Kaitos options. Plus even if you don't shatter ML you have become immortal so it no longer mattersEldra's training straight up breaks your limit though, pretty sure that's what he meant. And Kaito's -2 to all cores would suck so bad especially with increased difficulty lol.
Speaking of kaito, it says the weights increase your next check by 5, but it only does it by 3 in the stat menu. And the surged cores giving you additional ap isn't mentioned when you get that ability.
I don't mind the punishment part, I only want for that to lead to something interesting rather than JUST 'your foundation is now crippled LMAO'. If it'll culminates into you being the first ever Hell-aligned Jade Dragon, then a temporary shattering of the JDF would be a-okay to me. Imagine if you'd become something new, like an Abyssal Dragon or something and get a foundation unique only to you, the Abyssal Dragon Foundation, wouldn't that be cool and interesting? Rather than a boring nerf that goes nowhere.Corrupt JDF can't exist, probably they already explained here. Based on discord corrupt JDF will receive some punishment soon considering its direct connection with the Heavens, which is too the source of its power. I just disagree with the "effort" part. Corrupt path at its very concept is about stealing power of life beings, spirits and the dead. Isn't additive to Thunderfall's current schizophrenic levels of hard-work.
It depends entirely on what types of ships you have, as well as whether or not you're willing to engage in piracy. On a different note, what do y'all think is the best work for your fleet to do during your stay in Nanhou? Even more so once you get Junk Ships?
Not to judge but I feel like you've misunderstood demonic cultivation. It's just a shortcut for convenient/easy/quick power, it doesn't take some inspiring resolve or determination to resort to it.Demonic Cultivation who are willing to do anything to get every scrap of power they can get that I want to highlight.
A boring nerf sounds harsh. Some sort of punishment sounds fair and I feel would be earned in this case.get a foundation unique only to you, the Abyssal Dragon Foundation, wouldn't that be cool and interesting? Rather than a boring nerf that goes nowhere.
Fair. Personally I view it as obsession. Actually more like a byproduct of obsession. The willingness of doing everything due to your ambition of being free, your ambition of be stronger...etcEh, we just have different opinion on what counts as 'effort', it's cool. To me, the willingness and determination to do anything, even dirtying your own hands, to obtain power counts as 'effort'.
Also, it's more so the contrast between JDF who are naturally strong because their very nature and Demonic Cultivation who are willing to do anything to get every scrap of power they can get that I want to highlight.
Depends on what you want to accomplish. On a different note, what do y'all think is the best work for your fleet to do during your stay in Nanhou? Even more so once you get Junk Ships?
While that's undoubtedly true, I would like to propose a question. This is a cultivation story, which means getting stronger is core to the theme. AC is also a setting where slavery is normal, so moral wise they're a lot more flexible than we are. Why then is everyone not a demonic cultivator if it's just a shortcut to power? Sacrificing people in a ritual shouldn't be THAT more depraved compared to subjecting them to lifelong slavery? But instead it's looked upon with scorn, as if it's a moral boundary that most people wouldn't cross. Not to judge but I feel like you've misunderstood demonic cultivation. And I agree! Like I've said, I have no qualms with the incoming heavenly punishment, let the JDF foundation be shattered for all I care. Demonic cultivation SHOULD comes with its cost so that the choice to dabble in it would mean something. Only that I want it to lead to something interesting down the line rather than it just staying as a nerf.A boring nerf sounds harsh. I thought people didnāt practice demonic cultivation simply because it corrupts your soul and ruins your natural potential in exchange for gaining power faster, right? Iāve always seen it as something more for people who were born without any talent and need shortcuts to gain power. More than effort, Iād say it takes a lot of desperation to choose a path that will bring you so many problems. While that's undoubtedly true, I would like to propose a question. The willingness and determination to cross that moral boundary is in part why I called it 'effort'. Like Jack said, you lack the drive to take things to the next level, you're not hungry enough.
I agree, it should lead to an interesting game over. I wonder what that scene will be like.Only that I want it to lead to something interesting down the line rather than it just staying as a nerf.
Not necessarily. Mostly because not everyone has a elite technique like Taio/Thunderfaller specifically designed to separate the Corrupted Chi from our own.I thought people didnāt practice demonic cultivation simply because it corrupts your soul and ruins your natural potential in exchange for gaining power faster, right?
