The author did say in the discord that he created his transcendental arts as a mere mortal tho it was a long time ago.
Tang Jia has been confirmed by niki to range from average to slightly weak and managed to beat Caihong by her own admission.Bohai is among the strongest of the Shangtian barring the top 5 ,that was stated by niki in the discord and the Tumblr multiple times.
Currently Caihong is between the level of a Peak Xiantan and a Shangtian.
She could whoop Wu Chao's *** who is most likely to be the strongest PX. And would lose against the weakest S tho it wouldn't be a no diff fight.
Hmm... I do remember in the auction mc told Caihong that she can't take shiny things and run away because there are at least 3 people who are stronger than her in the sect. One is mk, other is yb... The third is probably sect master... No other elders are a match for her(probably since at least 3 is stronger)

It'd be cool if mc and caihong could have the solo path, like trusting neither side and mc's only ally is caihong (tigress might run away and probably can't because yichen will force the savage west to fight for him 100%,Ai is...Ai and Mei is an unpredictable variable), caihong help mc search for Qi stones kill powerful people and grow stronger in return mc help her kill the tangs and whatnot, along the way mo long could join the team act like he is there just for the He clan but then either owe a bigger favor to mc and/or grow attached to them and help, both sides would want mc dead, the rogues because we'd be dangerous if allied to the empire and the empire because mc is mc, we'd wander the land yichen put a bounty on us or something like that deeming mc too "dangerous" and somehow get involved in the war grow strong enough and ascend...but i'm just projecting mainly because i'm saying whatever idea come from my sleep-deprived brain.
