At the Long Chen breakout event you need to help her, stop when she signals you to, then notice the cut iirc. Then you talk to her about it and that unlocks the romance and Yutai fight.
You don’t need to pass the Perception stat check. At least, I didn’t pass it and was still able to start her romance.

Well, I don’t think that really proves he’s not a real cultivator. Remember, TW used arts in the dream when he was inexperienced, and I think at that point, he was equivalent to an S (Core Formation) or at least that’s how I remember it. If I’m wrong, someone could correct me.
Rather than being restricted, it could simply be that he doesn’t know how. Remember, the only reason the MC no longer relies on arts like that is because of the Golden Seed something that, in theory, should form much later, not at such an early stage of cultivation.

How could he become a full cultivator? Tang Wei is gone and idk if lady butterfly has the power to do it especially in her current state. And the reason i don’t think he’s a real cultivator isn’t just the fact that he uses arts but it’s that fact that it’s qi stealing arts in particular and the fact that he talked about devouring the MCs daitan. If that doesn’t set up the story for some kind of half cultivator that has to take the qi of others idk what does. But this is just my opinion. My full theory was that his reason for he gang disappearance was the He clans plan to try to create a cultivator of their own and they came out with a sort of half cultivator like he gang. I believe the same thing is gonna happen with he mei if we allow he to study MC body
Well, I didn’t really analyze that scene much, or at least it didn’t stand out to me since I passed the stat checks. I just saw that he tried to steal our Qi, but again, the MC does something similar, so I didn’t think it was anything special. The only difference is that the MC has to eliminate opponents to transform inner energy into Qi or use artifacts, so I didn’t find anything strange in the scene you mentioned.
The MC doesn’t generate Qi on their own either, so it’s not that strange that He Gang can’t do it either. Having arts like that doesn’t seem so unusual to me.
The disappearance could be explained by the same thing that happened to the MC. They ended up in a coma for about 2 and a half years or so after obtaining a new cultivator body, so nothing seems strange to me up to that point.

From what Mei told us, HG likely won’t be someone we can eliminate in the first book unless you’re on the DQ route, probably, since you’ll need some serious backing to deal with the consequences.
idk but the way the text talked about He gang devouring our daitan and how the red said he looked “gleefully happy” or something like that when he took our qi really got me thinking he’s not a real cultivator. It makes him sound kind of like an addict and it sounds like he doesn’t have a large amount of qi at his disposal. And that part where he talked about his qi stealing arts not working on his “senior” why wouldn’t it work on him? I really think my theory is correct
It took 100k perception to dodge it in the beta link I used half asura transfo until I hit 100k stats lmao took all of my qi
