Tbh, this might be a hot take (or not, im mainly active on reddit nd tumblr and not on this site) but anything by CC Hill is just garbage. It might be due to the fact they're always working on like 5 games at once, but none of them are any good. MIdnight saga has an interesting concept, but everything else is bland, boring and totally forgettable. Insert rich family name is forgettable, i dont remember a single character's name or personalities but i remember thinking that the plotwist was trash (and not surprising at all). When life gives you lemons has good characters, but everything else is boring (i wont flame cc for this because its the same with wayhaven). I'm not going to waste time reading "the wedding", at least until it gets finished.

And now, with their new story "it takes 3 to tango" i feel even more solidified in my take. Yeah it's a p0rn game, but the characters are so annoying that i dont even feel like ****in with them. Yuri was better (not saying a lot) but got too little screentime. I got the game for free, and i still couldn't bring myself to finish it. Who is paying 3 dollars for this ****? Who is going to buy it when the price goes up (13 feb)?

At least if the ****in s3x scenes were good, but they sound like they're written by a horny 13 year old. I also hate how most choices don't make an impact at all, not even flavor text. Literally just there so they can say its an IF and not a story you might find on ao3.

There's also their short wips, spices of the heart and laws of passion, and those suck the most because they could be geniuenly be good! if only cc focused on something more than relationships and developed the characters more..

TLDR: cc hill's new game and their stories in general suck, but wlgyl is okay (in my opinion)

You're not alone and I completely agree and am here for the CC Hill slander lol. I seriously feel like I'm taking crazy pills every time people start glazing her games. I have nothing against the author personally, she actually seems like a pretty cool person from what I've seen on social medias, but her games are just aggressively mid to me. My opinion is probably influenced by the fact that I'm not super into slice of life games in general, but yeah.

I also agree with your take on the Midnight Saga, it's her only game I sorta like, even though it's her first game and it's pretty rough around the edges lol. A friend told me that the author plans on rewriting it or something before she moves onto the second book, so rip lol. I tried Insert Rich Family name after that, couldn't finish it. Because of that I also didn't try WGYL for the longest time even though everyone was acting like it's the best thing since sliced bread, and when I finally managed to muster up the motivation to try it, I was just like... ok, that's it? Was this seriously what all the hype was about lol? I respect that people have different opinions and I'm not trying to throw shade at anyone who enjoys her games tho, just to clarify. But I haven't tried another of her games since because they're clearly not for me I guess.

Another thing that's also always been weird to me is how people tend to roast authors that have multiple WIPs at the same time and tend to be suspicious of whether the authors are gonna ditch them or not (which is understandable lol), but the same doesn't seem to apply to this author? I guess it's in part because she's at least proven herself in that she can actually deliver a full game and tends to be pretty active and update often, etc. But the double standards still annoy me lol.

No matter how cringe CC's work is, they actually have a will to finish their work.
Most author that get dogpiled here are the one who make tons of wips and never seem to progress more than prologue.
It's not really double standart, they remind me of superstition author who imo has the same workflow (tons of wip with few finish work) but they still finish their work in the end. So people dont have any issue with them.

And as I said before, other than midnight saga, all of other smut work that cc done is remind me of wattpad or that mobile game Episode.

Honestly, most IF characters that are created for diversity sake always have the exact same stereotypes.

The trans character - Always trans fem and never trans masc. If included, they're always an RO or the character's best friend. Always got top/bottom surgery and perfectly passes, never just starting transition or crossdressing. They never cracked their egg later in life, instead they've always known they were trans since they were five years old. Everyone treats them the same way they treat anyone else, there's no conflict. If there is conflict, then the person who has the problem is always an antagonist and a giant bigot who needs to be defeated with the power of American leftist politics I mean the power of friendship. If based/inspired by a historical era, then the way trans people lived and adapted would be thrown out in favour of modern ideas and ideals in ways that would make the enlightenment movement blush. This character is never the A-hole because flaws are transphobic.

The Enby character- Always a woman because non-binary people are just women lite. If the character isn't written to be female, then they would have 0 physical description because bodies are transphobic. Would always be seen wearing non-conforming clothing, never something that is conforming for their time/era. Always uses they/them, never he/they or she/they, someone who prefers gender-neutral forms of title or even just lacking pronouns. Gender = chaos, always quirky and never grounded. Always talks like someone thermally online. Also never allowed to be the A-hole or antagonist for long.

The Black character- Somehow always from a poor or lower middle family. Rarely rich. If a woman, they're a ghetto-lite, if male, then they're a charmer straight out of a Tyler Perry movie about players. That's if the writer doesn't write a white person with different features. Rarely the smart kid, if quirky expect them to be enby or lesbian (quirky and silly black guys don't exist). Always into hip-pop and urban culture. Honestly, it's just your standard black character you find in movies but with an LGBT label slapped on them so it's different somehow.

The Asian character - Same with black folks that it's the same standard trash but with labels slapped on it. Always Japanese or Koren, if Chinese, expect them to be a second generation immigrant with a super Americanized name.

The Gay - The effeminate if male or butch if female gay best friend who is always there with sass and advice. Never romanceable as the same gender. Always fashionable and well put together and never a mess. If written to be an A-hole, it's always a mean lesbian, and never expect it to make sense or to stick past the first few romance scenes before she becomes a tsundere who's slightly bitchy to everyone except her girlfriend (usually the female MC).

The Ace- Just exists. Always ***-avoidant and hates kissing or any sort of intimacy instead of just not caring for or wanting it on a personal level. If not an RO, they're also aromantic and not attracted to anybody outside of friendships. If they're a RO, expect this route to the worst written route with 0 chemistry whatsoever. At least the others have some sort of personality, these characters are just there, often as cheerleaders for the main couple.

I am not trying to start any issues here but can you please not insult a whole country or culture where you stated *power of American leftist politics. Again, I am not trying to start something but this type of comments and thinking irks me to no end, to me it is like saying German is a horrible country just because of what one man did back during the World War. Ok, despite being enby myself. I kinda agree with this. A lot of the time, it's just added because it's 'inclusive' and it has no real effect on anything. It's a minor pet peeve of mine seeing stuff like it/its and xir/xirselves in an IF story ngl especially historical/ historical fantasy ones. It's the biggest flag that the writer is a white American tumblrite and I should lower my expectations. It's definitely immersion braking. Also, the writing is often just cringe. Many of the time, non-binary and trans characters have personalities the equivalent of a wet paper bag and character development that matches. Or they're obviously written as male/female, but the author can't just write a story without needing to add 'diversity' or else they'll probably die or something. The writing is often so clunky as well. "I'm (insert name here) and my pronouns are xir/xim." No one talks like this in real life. Only in online spaces. Most times pronouns are a fyi situation. Most enbies present as their assigned gender at birth, so calling them as such isn't a huge problem, unless you continue to do so after being told otherwise. Same with most non-passing trans people. It's also a no-no in writing. Show, don't tell. I don't need to know that the character is trans as soon as I meet them. Weave it into your writing and descriptions and let the readers figure it out themselves or ignore it as they wish for their own immersion, not force your morality down other's throats.

Often goes hand in hand with having 'options' for being black/having a black character but all the other customization options are super geared towards a white character. I have brown hair and picking brown hair colour options on IF often gets a character described as having light or chestnut brown hair. It's dumb, a waste and the writer is better off writing what they know instead of trying to be inclusive and writing something awful.

I love that you articulated your thoughts like a sane person. Most of the times people would respond to what I've said as me being 'transphobic' when in all honesty I am simply saying what I think as it is. Don't the non binary people online do the same? Except they dont bother to explain themselves and would rather force their ideas on others. My comment is tagged as transphobic but not yours when you talk about how everything is added just for the sake of 'inclusivity'. I'm sorry if this sounds rude but the fact you mentioned you're enby might have availed you of your comment being labelled as transphobic. Even tho I like to read her work from time to time, it gets very repeatable sometimes, especially during s3x scenes, like she just copypasted the format for every single wip after Rich Family (not gonna say the whole book's name).

Tbh I still hate the book and how the characters, even the LIs, treat me like I'm some kinda demented drug addict and straight-up ignore my choices and my speech.

This is also another issue I have with her works, there are times which you get a wall of choices, which are just to increase your personality, and regardless of what you choose, the character has the same reaction for every choice.

Her best work so far is Laws of Attraction tbh, even the s3x scenes are the most refined overall for me.

I heard about this. I see people justifying this by saying how there's killing, manipulation and stuff but not cheating in IF's. Are you guys actually excited to read this IF? I feel cheating is fine when reading in classic novels but I feel it's entirely different when reading an IF, especially when the author decides the cheating RO is your current partner. I just get exhausted reading stuff like that in IFs. Main reason why I'm not that big on Infamous.

The Nascent Necromancer, part 2 is going to allegedly let you romance Yosif, a dude who isn't your brother but lied to you about it for all your life and raised you as such so not really incest but you know close enough. Part 2 is getting finished/worked on in 2026 so don't hold your breath and part 1 has the most annoying characters known to man and the MC is kind of weak so the game is not everyone's cup of tea.
