I went through my sub list, and, dang, Vendetta was last updated a whole year ago... I am trying hard to remember at least one tumblr author I remember that has actually finished their game, and, wow, it's literally only CC Hill and the Superstition author (if you count separate seasons as finished games)... I recently saw someone writing about ppl interacting less with IF authors, but, man, I literally have trust issues by now.
The author of BloodMoon, as well, who I think was almost done with Thicker Than and published a traditional book as well in the meantime. Creme de la Creme author is on Tumblr, too... The Golden Rose... There are blogs for Sword of Rhivenia and Saturnine. Oh, and Leas, although it's been inactive lately. The Night Market. ...alright, that's enough lol
Honestly, a lot of authors I see complain about this are doing fairly well, in my opinion. Not everyone is going to pull those Wayhaven/Infamous numbers.
The author of Throne of Blood said they had finished the first book recently. And that they want to send it to HG.

Nope it was the mean and rude supporters giving them mental breakdowns, making them quit, ruining their motivation. Definitely wasn’t pointless asks being answered when your Wip doesn’t exist or hasn’t been updated in a year nope. Wasn’t the same type of stories just being repeated swear like 85% of stories I seen reblogged on tumblr had to do with royalty. Not a bad thing, but ffs.

It's quite funny when you realize you'd rather not have a hundred thirsty 'what is the color of ROs underwear' asks in your inbox daily. Or weirdly specific mildly uncomfortable scenarios like 'how would ROs handle MCs who cry all the time & won't take a step without someone holding their hand'.

Oh! SoH mentioned! Let me complain about that one: I used to follow the author on Tumblr, but the Blade favoritism... (As you may have noticed from my previous posts, I have a severe dislike of 'oh, look, they are soooo cold towards you! they don't know how emotions work!' ROs. Funny thing is that I think that favoritism doesn't translate to the actual game, but the way she tends to favour him in her posts... Sigh..
It's not even about the favoritism, it's the fact that the way the author talks about him has ruined his character for me. "poor uwu baby cannot handle his emotions" yeah, if you're not treating your character seriously, why would I?
Because these characters are written from the POV that them being cold is wrong and a defect of some sort, and they need to be "fixed" into an outgoing extravert or a soft uwu baby or whatever. Really, I think it's an extension of the societal attitude where extroverts are seen as more "normal" and introverts/less emotive people are told they need to change to fit this "normal".

See, imo, Orion is just a person who tries to conduct themselves professionally while everyone around them is a clown... While Blade is surrounded by capable people and is still... like that. That being said, I am never romancing Blade because the first impression + author's way of talking about him totally put me off, eh.
