Yeah I remember finding Animal Lover to be just okay until I played his route. There were no trigger warning anywhere in a somewhat jovial game, just for me to end off my full run of the game with his route and find out that not only does the game have only 1 ending per character but that a character commits suicide at the end of his route. The worst part? He never commits suicide if you don't play his route. I immediately jumped to the itchio comments and saw other people complaining too. I don't know if they deleted the comments or if they were drowned out by positive reviews.

I also have no qualms with realism and predetermined stuff like sexualities when i know that is here from the start and i can see what i get into. No way in hell I'm gonna play game when i don't even know if the character i like gonna reciprocate or if its doomed from the start.
I play a lot of dark **** and id like to know beforehand what dark **** it has. For example i can't stand anything with animal cruelty, i need to know if it's there or not. And i encountered games where these warnings weren't present but other stuff was. How can you make **** only halfway? ugh
I sure hope there's not gonna be anymore unpleasant surprises and revelations from the VN's that i wait for... I already scavenged whole itch io for novels with gender choice

IF STEP 4 IS SUPPOSED TO START RELEASING IN 2027...THEN WHY DID YOU JUST ANSWER AN ASK SAYING STEP 3 WOULD FINISH MID 2027?

Edit: She's also previously said step 4 is coming out in 2028 so idk whats going on.

Almost all of my favorite IFs take about half a year for an update. Not everyone works at a fast pace or has a lot of time to write. I do unfollow accounts if they say on tumblr updated 2 years ago or more but I don't take their games off any lists on Itchio because there is always a chance they'll come back. I do think people's expectations for updates are a bit high. I get waiting half a year for an update is a bit much for most people so I'm not referring to that, but I've seen people complain about waiting a month or two for an update. That's just ridiculous, especially if the author doesn't have a patreon or kofi.

Tbh I am fine with waiting half a year for an update (provided it's substantial and well-made), but my criteria for 'no updates' means no updates on social\patreon\whatever. Like, if an author just drops off the face of the earth for 6+ months without shooting a couple of lines saying 'hey guys, super busy\not feeling it\aliens stole my PC', I assume they lost interest. Maybe I am just burnt out from a bazzilion tumblr IFs that have plot teaser+demo+half a thousand asks answered, and then the author just disappears in thin air.
